Bengal's WR Chris Henry just died!

He had his arm in a cast. I'm sure that made it more difficult to hold on. I'm not going to judge. We don't know if he was trying to hurt his fiancee or help her. The accident was only about a half mile from the house.

Evidently, Henry had done a lot to clean up his act. It's sad his life ended this way.

This is a very good point, we simply don't know what he was doing. There were no witnesses to the argument so we don't what transpired, and there were no witnesses to him falling from the truck.

He was a very talented wide receiver who seemed to have gotten his personal life on track and was poised on the cusp of success. My heart breaks for his fiance, children, mother, and friends. To lose a loved one is difficult, to do so a week before Christmas is doubly so.

For #15 I pray he is at peace. :(

Our local news is reporting this morning that witness(es) has/have said that Henry said that he would kill himself if the fiance did not stop the truck and talk to him. Now they are saying that he may have jumped out of the truck on purpose. In other words, possible suicide. I am trying to find links to post. I heard it on WCNC, the station I posted from yesterday. However, with our winter storm hitting here today, most news I can find is weather. There is a story posted about it online, but it is not the same report I saw this morning. I will try to post when I find it.

Here is a story on WCNC's web site that quotes that witness. However, the video is old, apparently before he died. The printed report is telling the same thing that the reporter said this morning.: http://www.wcnc.com/news/local/chris-henry-79449252.html

...I was watching The Final Score this morning, and it showed the press conference with the quarterback (forgot his name) and Chad Ochocinco - they were both pretty shaken up, especially Ochocinco! :sad1:

I don't know for sure but I'll bet he didn't live with his children.

Why would that even matter? Who cares if he lived with his children or not? The children's mother and him were getting married, so if he didn't live with them now, he would have been after the wedding.

There are reports now that the night before his death, Henry was upset over the cost of the wedding. Maybe that is what they were fighting about?

I just really hope that she didn't purposefully drive crazy in an attempt to get him out of the bed of the truck. I can't imagine the guilt and pain that she is feeling for being partially responsible for his death. Those poor kids. :sad1:

The quarterback is Carson Palmer, a fellow Trojan alumni. I saw a different side of Ochocinco in that interview. It was hard to watch him. I can imagine how difficult it is for them to have to face the press during this time.

That makes it even worse. So very sad.

Sounds like reckless behavior on the part of both individuals.

Neighbor Lee Hard, was on a ladder cutting back some trees when he saw the yellow pickup "zooming" up the Tongas' gravel driveway a few yards away.

Hardy said a shirtless black man (Chris Henry) clung to the top and side of the truck while standing in the bed, begging Loleini Tonga to stop the vehicle.

"He was banging on the top, on the doors, screaming, 'We need to talk,'" Hardy said. "He yelled, 'If you take off, I'm going to jump off and kill myself.'"

She stopped, hesitating at the end of the driveway, but then took off.

I think she is saying he jumped to avoid possible manslaughter charges. The case isn't closed.

I would imagine his football pension is more than a life insurance policy. Maybe I don't know

It seems to be in her best interest, for both reasons listed above, to say this. If there was someone behind them that appeared to be calling police, then that person, as a witness, should be able to help with this investigation. The case is still being investigated. I will post more as it comes up on our local news.
