Benefits to booking direct

I'm about to book 10 nights in SSR for next year and have been pricing up the options. Complete Orlando has it for £1,888 including the dining plan Disney is around £1900 after quidco cash back also including 100 Disney dollars. Is the small amount more worth it for the extras you get booking direct? Or for the peace of mind you've gone direct. Also do Disney charge to use a credit card as this may also influence my decision.

Finally are there any promotional codes around at the moment?

For £12 difference I would book direct. We opted to go with CO for our last trip but we saved about £150 (£75/family)
The main difference I know of is alterations, if you add to your booking direct they will waive any fees, whereas CO will probably charge, there was a thread on Dibb (just found link) http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=573252

Its beyond me a company would charge a fee to take extra money, they have made their commission on the original booking plus no doubt earning a little more from any extra you are adding so my opinion is they should waive any fees, just as Disney do.
Saying that its in the T&C's so its upto the traveller to choose.

We added our flits a few months after booking hotel with complete orlando and no fees, we have had a few problems as well and no fees and cant say how good they have been with us

But have also booked oast years with disney direct and again no fees for changing

It's highly unlikely I'll have to change anything so that doesn't really affect me. It's more about the benefits of booking direct. For example can I book ADRs online when booking through complete Orlando?

I'd book direct.

You will be able to book adr's online at 180+10 and will get the perks eg preferred firework viewing and mini golf game free.

No complaints re complete orlando..they got my money this year as they were significantly cheaper than disney direct. They did charge £35 amendment fee to move our dates by a couple of days to tie in with flights.

Anyone can book online ADR's, the problem is linking them to your hotel reservation, many of us couldn't this year with Complete Orlando, you could if you booked direct with Disney. I don't know if they have resolved the problem but that is definitely one of the reasons I would book direct for. I had to ring to book some of mine.

As above direct you get the perks package, not something I used myself but some do.

Its unlikely we will ever change a holiday once booked but 2 years ago we did, we added an extra night at OKW. Thankfully that was the year we booked direct so it was free (just the £100 for the hotel) if it had been with CO they would have been within their rights to charge £75 ontop.

They won't charge for adding flights but they will for altering dates, adding or removing hotel nights etc.

I just wouldn't consider them for the sake of £12 myself.

Cashback is never guaranteed but I have done it 3 times with Quidco/Disney and got it no problem, never read a post with problems.

No fees with either Disney or Complete Orlando unless either have changed recently.
