Can someone please explain to me ( in simple terms please) the benefits of online check in. Last year we checked in online at home as we thought it would be quicker. When we got to the airport for our flight the next day we had to queue up as normal ( flew with Delta ) and when we passed the chap our printed of pass things he just ripped them up and said that he had to put all the details in again anyway.?
Was I doing something wrong ?
This year we are flying with Virgin and have pre booked our seats and will be doing twilight check in so.... what is the benefit of checking in online?
Am I missing something?
Only 26 days till we fly - yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

If we hadn't printed off our boarding passes (which incidentally didn't work), we would've been in serious trouble, but at least with them we could prove it was their error. Still waiting for an explaination from US Airways though....
