We've been DVC members for a few years now and absolultely love it. We look forward to our trip every year since we bought in to it, however I was hoping to get a few more benefits from investing so much money....I knew when we bought it what benefits came with it....but
I would love to see a discount on park tickets ( i think it's available for an annual pass..not 100% but I thought I read that somewhere) but a discount on tickets in general. Maybe a discount on the dining plan....something were you at least feel "special" for being a member.....not sure if this is coming across the right way but does anyone else feel that? I know they offer discounts here and there but still I just feel that alot of DVC members go every year and maybe they should offer something to us to help reduce other expenses....

discount on AP and on renewal, which is a good deal. There are discounts to the water parks and most tours. With the AP, you can get the DDE for $65, which will get you 20% at Table service meals, including alcohol. There is also many restuarants that will give DVC members discounts for lunch and/or dinner.

Having a full size kitchen available to you allows you to discount your meals.

I've always thought a roped off area to watch fireworks one night a week would be great. Fountain soda and popcorn cost little but would go amiles to make members feel special.

.... Maybe a discount on the dining plan....

We already get a discount on the dining plan. You don't have to pay rack rate and you don't have to buy tickets directly from Disney if you don't want to.

We do? What is the discount?

You don't have to buy a ticket you might not need. Discount

You don't have to pay rack rate for a room. Discount.

There's no way for the CRO guest to add the DDP to thier AP or other discounted room rate while we add it to a room rate that paid CRO nothing. (And don't forget these are all seperate "profit" centers for Disney LOL!)

Personally if I were Disney and read the DIS I would give us nothing. No matter what we get folks will whine:confused3 If they gave us a viewing area on "Tuesday' there would be 400 posts going "I can't go to Epcot on Tuesday and it's not fair" If they gave us a free Coke, there would be 200 posts going "The coke was hot, you only got one" and so on LOL!

And it's almost time for the annual "I can't get FREE DDP with my DVC" thread....

Personally if they give me the villa they have lived up to the deal.

I wish we could get free dining...especially since this year our trip is the end of August...( we are taking my BIL and his family, and since he is a teacher that is the best time for them to go )
I know I sound like I'm complaining ( and I am...LOL ) but sometimes with the deals Disney offers I feel like I'm losing money.
I'm still confused about the discount on the Dining Plan ??????
What do we pay compared to someone who is not a DVC member?

There is no discount for the DDP. The benifit is that you are able to purchase the dining plan, even though you are not paying for a room. And those people getting "free" dining are paying rack rate.

I just purchased the Disney Dining Plan for my husband, my granddaughter and myself for this summer. They told me it was $37.99 for each adult and $9.99 for my six year old granddaugher. I am not sure what the "regular" price is.

(Those are per day prices.)

That the same that DVC members on points and CRO guests paying rack rate and purchasing tickets have to pay.

If you are a DVC member and want to get free dining in late Aug and Sept (if it is offered), there is no reason why you can't get it. You just need to reserve a room at rack rate and purchase the same ticket for all the guests in your party. You can get that one bedroom at SSR and get free dining, just pay for it.
