Well, since my girls trip was cancelled, I'll be watching 'Up; with the kiddos tonight and then we're going to play Disney Scene It. It's a party up in here.;)

Sorry your trip had to be postponed  hope the hubby feels better soon!

Dean and Deluca info would be appreciated as well.;)

We just finished 'Up'. Started watching out here in the living room since dh is so sick and was in the theater (there are reclining seats). 30 min in, the DVD stopped working! We kicked dh out of the theater (he is fine with it) and watched the rest on Blu Ray in there.

WOW. It may be my favorite Pixar film.

Wow. Lots of :sad1: and:rotfl:

We got the movie on Tuesday when it came out :thumbsup2 (DH & the kids had seen it in the theater, I missed it because I was on my cruise :guilty:) I cried and laughed so much, I think it's one of the best if not the best movie Pixar has done!

We're going to have sushi for lunch at a place out here (yes, in outer Stinktown) and then we're going to see 2012! Raw fishies and cheesy disaster movies! Life is good! :lmao:

We are nearing the end of the line on this thread ... do you guys want me to start a third one? Seems like the traffic has slowed since everyone has returned from their Fall trips, but I'd still like to keep in touch with the friendies here if they so choose.

Let me know what you want to do. :goodvibes

mmmmmm sushi :goodvibes

Yes, we want the thread to continue! I need to keep my friendies in my life

Of course continue! Start thinking up a catchy title!

I know I've been lax with my posting, but I'm hoping to get back in the saddle soon, so please do start another thread. It takes me a while to recover from these vacations and just goes to prove that I'm not meant to live out of a suitcase.

Of course we need a new thread!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Friendies be with me--I just had to explain to my 8 y/o about periods :faint:. And then that morphed into what she's asking Santa to bring her. There is just something so wrong about that! :scared1: Mama needs a glass of wine now...

 Does she have 'The Care and Keeping of You'? It's a book from American Girl. DD6 has it (we have not read it in depth yet) but I think it's a GREAT book. Talks about that kind of stuff.:thumbsup2

And yes, you need a glass of wine.

What did she ask for from Santa?

PSA: Having a sick husband will drive you to drink! It's 4:30, and I haven't had anything today, but man oh man the calories I've drank (drunk?) this week.:sad2:

I was going to get that book (because we've already had the "sex" talk) to explain the other stuff, but she beat me to the punch! "What are those things in your bathroom?":rotfl2:

She wants a Nintendo dsi and new baby doll outfits. How can I have to talk about periods and Santa in the same afternoon??? Too bittersweet, isn't it?

It's okay to doctor youself a little, too, with the hubby sick. ;)

I'd still recommend the book so she can read it (lots of cartoony pics) and discusses eating disorders, armpit odor...

Does she have Nintendo DS? My kids love theirs. With all the travel they've done in the past couple of years they've been lifesavers.

Posted another brief food review - some naughty F&W food porn! :lmao:

And thanks for the replies ... I'll plan on another thread, then. YAY!! :goodvibes :grouphug:

Just stopping in to say hi! Will be back tomorrow to catch up... :yay:

No, she doesn't have a DS. She showed me online that she wants the dsi because it has a camera on it. We've never done a video game system before because she's never been that interested, but dh said get it for her because he remembered asking for an Atari and a Nintendo and not getting one growing up. Aww.

I plan on getting the book, too; I heard it was really good. Thanks for all the support!

Jamie,

our oldest niece has a nintendo DS and it has some really great educational games as well as the standard fare. Last year at Thanksgiving Lily spent the afternoon glued to my side showing me how to play with the thing - she loves it.

I think it's so sweet that your DS said that ... it reminds me a little of A Christmas Story (without the gun). :goodvibes

And kudos to you for even trying to have that conversation with whogirl ... my mom never talked about that stuff - I found out from my friends and Judy Blume books. :rotfl2:

how about posting the picture of the skeleton in the outhouse for old timesake? :rotfl2:

He had too much morning coffee.....

The Christmas village has an outhouse, too. I sure wish someone was in it...

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm telling you that skeleton has Inflammatory Bowel Disease! And that's what happens when you stop taking your meds or have a really bad flare up. :lmao:

Do you have a freestanding figure that you could add to the outhouse? Santa might look pretty good in there ... after all, everyone poops, even the great Claus. :lmao:

I was going to recommend the same book! It really is good for so many girl growing up questions :thumbsup2

I remember what my mom said to me "You know what that is, you read about it in Dear God it's me Margaret" :lmao::lmao::lmao: Sad but true story

Can't put one inside, but maybe I could make a line of people waiting to use it?:rotfl:

Yeah, that book provided lots of answers. I would have been wondering where to buy my 'belt' for pads.:rotfl:
