Glad Goofy is "his old self" again!

And they have adult diapers for days like yours... ;)

Went back to work today ... it sucks sitting in a cube coughing your lungs out. The good news is that everyone is giving me a wide berth because they seem to think I have the spider pig flu. :rotfl2:

Sooner or later the antibiotics will kick in ... but man, I hate coughing so hard that I nearly pee my pants. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

So spider pig flu is code for spew and pee flu? We're rootin' for the antibiotics!

Yeah for :goofy:!

We are still in WDW but all 4 of us left when they took John to the ambulance. Glad to hear we did not wreak the evening, we were worried we threw off the timing for the kitchen.

I guess I should explain what happened. As the main speaker was starting his presentation, my DH got up and said he wasn't feeling well. As he was walking out, he looked back at me and I realized he was going down. By the time I got to him, he was out cold on the floor right by the Harp. My friends ran right for John, as well as another person who was a doctor. Oh, both my friends are doctors as well. They were making sure he had a pulse and was breathing. He was out cold for about 2 minutes, with raspy breathing and his eyes were half opened but he was out cold. It was very scarey but try to realize that there were 70 people all around us, who had paid top dollar, and here we were. It was surreal.

The paramedics got there and John was already coherent and aware of his surroundings. They took him to the ambulance and did some tests, all of which were normal. I have to add, he did this same thing in July and spent the night in the hospital. It was decided his blood pressure meds were off and his pressure dropped too low. Well, this time, it turns out he was not feeling well all afternoon but told no one and all the doctors feel this caused his blood pressure to drop. When we get home, he will be seeing a cardiologist.

He does have a shiner from the fall and really has not felt well today, with a fever on and off. He is starting to perk up but now I have a slight fever:confused3

The staff at V&A have been terrific. There were 2 messages for us this morning, one saying there was a package for us and the other was from Israel, the matre'd, left at 1:30am, asking how John was doing, that he hoped everything was okay, and that they would call us back to get our credit card to refund the dinner. The package was from them, including wine and a truffle and book on wines. It was so thoughtful and generous to do that. They were so helpful when this all happened, I can't rave enough.

So, that is my story of how we tried to liven up the V&A signature dinner.

OMG! Hope that all is calm now

Oh, and I am pleased to announce that Goofy survived his surgery yesterday and his ears and head have been successfully reattached. :thumbsup2

Glad the surgery was successful  Hope you start feeling better soon

Just a quick hello to let you know that John is doing fine, he is back to his old self. That means, I can now kill him for scaring me so much:lmao::lmao:

I want to thank everyone for your kind thoughts, we both really appreciate them.

I called this morning and made a ressie at V&A for Monday night, I bet when they see us coming, they are going to slam the door shut and put a closed sign out:scared1::scared1::scared1: We want to say thank you to all of them in person, so we will just have to suffer through a meal there:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sue - I am glad that John is doing better but so very sorry you have to go back to V&A's.

That is such good news about John! :goodvibes Thanks for the update. It's all about the sacrifice, isn't it! V&A will be delighted to see you both. Maybe they'll have some truffles they will share with you!

Brenda, Sorry you are back home, at work & sick!! We had a good time at the party & seeing you and Jay around the World.

Susan, That must have been awfully scary! I'm glad John is okay!

Jeanne, Glad we were able to chat with you two for a little while. I do agree young Mr Cooper was a hottie, as you can see I zoomed in for a pic of him! He really did know his cognac looking at him was an added bonus! ;)

Sorry I haven't been keeping up. I picked up some kind of bug over in DW too. Not too sick, just really tired.

We did make it to see a local play of Rocky Horror on Saturday! The actors were awesome & it was a hoot!

I posted the first of many reviews this evening ... Beaches and Cream so don't get too excited. And since I was hacking and gacking the whole way through I take no responsibilty for the banality of my post. :lmao:

You're not sick enough. You're well enough to inspire me to call Todd English...Muppet Jerky. Well, Catherine's comment started that ball rolling, and you just added momentum. ;)

Were you wearing a mask while posting??? Cause you know... I can't AFFORD to take another day off from work... wouldn't want to drag myself out of my jammies and have to go to work...

(like I do that anyway... :lmao: :lmao:)

I was gonna say... that was ONE way to get out of paying for V&A's....

Glad he's back on the mend and that you will get the chance to go back... :)

Does anyone who attended the DISmeet on the 17th object to my sharing pictures here? You can send me a PM if you like .... I just don't want to post pictures of other people without knowing that it's OK first.

Thanks!! :goodvibes

UGH!!!! Just need to scream and vent for a minute.

Last week was awful, $1000 in unexpected repairs for the furnace that's only 3 years old. Find out this week the DH's old company (that's he still a part owner of) screwed up the paperwork for insurance coverage when he left there 20 months ago and find out that the renewal was just denied and that our coverage was cancelled as of 9/19. No idea where the 19th date comes from. They'll be returning our premiums that were paid for that time, but we need to pay our new insurance, back to Sep 19th now and I don't think we'll get our refund that quickly. :headache: Thankfully we've been looking at other options for awhile, but it hasn't been easy or cheap.

My business is still slow, growing but very very slowly and I've put more money in to start up than I've been paid so far.

MIL's surgery that was scheduled for tomorrow was cancelled yesterday afternoon. The surgeon wants to run more tests; great but why didn't he decide that a few weeks ago? Nothing has changed since the last test they ran. MIL was devastated :sad2:

Of course now that I don't have to be at the hospital with her, I can go to a funeral for a friend from our old neighborhood. He was early 50's, and when his wife went to wake him up Sunday morning; he wasn't sleeping. :sad1: Visitation and service are tomorrow afternoon.

I'm torn between wanting to scream, hit things, cry, throw up or just start laughing uncontrollably. I try to keep a positive attitude, but it's hiding from me this morning. Sorry for being a downer this morning, but honestly this was the one place that I felt I could be the most honest and open.

Thanks for listening, now back to our regularly scheduled programming of :drinking: & popcorn::

I'm sorry Chelle. That's an awful lot to deal with at once.

Chelle - You have a lot on your plate right now, so I think all of your ideas about screaming, crying and laughing uncontrollably ought to help a little.

Chelle, Sorry you have to deal with all this. We're here always, sometimes it does make it a little better just getting things out. :goodvibes
