Happy Birthday, Jamie!

:bday: :cake: :bday: :cake:

I celebrated by having some new cheese that I bought yesterday.

Cypress Grove's Truffle Tremor (definitely not for Brenda) rocks.
It's a goat cheese with a lot of mushroom flavor.

Cowgirl Creamery's Mt. Tam Triple Cream.
Yum. It's like eating butter.

CYPRESS GROVE IS THE BEST! and Cowgirl Creamery is not too bad! Two San Fran. cheese people! :thumbsup2 Love the Truffle Tremor! Do you have Fresh and Easy stores? They have it at a steal here! Just a hint from the cheesey girl!

Is it just me, or is "Fresh and Easy" a terrible name for a store?

I mean, I would not want to be walking around carrying a bag or anything else that said "Fresh and Easy."

It's better then "Old and Hard" but yes, it's not my 1st choice! I believe it's owned by TESCO?!:confused3

Tesco, the British stores?

When I remember going to Tesco I remember the misheard lyrics website's take on the ABBA song "Super Trouper"

"I was sick and tired of everything/When I saw you last night at Tesco"

when it's actually "I called you last night from Glasgow"

Fresh and Easy sounds like a ladies cleanser.

Where's our Chicago people?

I officially start my new job tomorrow. The best part is instead of driving an hour to get to work it will be 10 minutes!:cool1:

If my best friend and I ever open a brothel, we are calling it 'Clean and Easy'. It's the name of a wax....:rotfl:

Sparkling water out the nose:lmao:

Watching now!

kathy...I just read about your dog..I'm sorry..much ..my family just had to do the same with our 13 year old cat, it is very hard...

Brenda: Read the blog, and that seems like a great bargain for a wine tasting dinner. I did see that my local bistro is finally having one in December ( I thought it was this month, and there is NO WAY we could make that with our wedding coming so soon..AAAHHH!)..but after reading up all of your reviews and your experiences with them...i am VERY tempted to try my own in my neck of the woods!

I finally saw julie and julia this weekend..i liked it..I enjoyed the book more, but Meryl Streep is a genius in my opinion, she really did an amazing job. And of course the food was a great supporting actor ;)

Thank you to all my friendies for the birthday wishes!! I have now grown large with cake and the celebrating must end.:goodvibes

Heather, you just made my night telling me that I can order bread pudding at Kona!!!The more I thought about why I wanted to go to 'Ohana, I kept coming up with dessert! :rotfl2: I think I might just make the adr for Kona and try the special order.

I have to admit I thought facebook was very bizarre when I first joined...too much information out there on too many people (we joke that my SIL posts everytime she toots!)

:hug::hug::hug:

Thank y'all for the kind words about my losing my baby girl. It's so very hard.:grouphug:

So sorry for your loss. Sending some  your way.

Thanks for posting that. What a great story. Really makes you feel thankful for what you have:goodvibes

A slight bit of food porn...

For some reason I am very much into beer right now and wine has taken a back seat. One of my favorite breweries is Southern Tier in New York and in the past couple of weeks I have thoroughly enjoyed their
and the
Both are full-bodied and the creme brulee is dessert in a bottle! I was also served a tasting of the Creme Brulee mixed with their Cherry Saison (which I don't like on its own) and it tasted like a Tootsie Roll. Our Capital Ale House has been very adventurous lately! :thumbsup2

Last night, Kristin's best friend gave me a bottle from the in Michigan. She knew that I like their

boy did I have to edit the name of this beer and the label!!!

and figured I would also like this:

It was BIG. It is a double chocolate, coffee, oatmeal stout. I felt like I could chew it. It is not something I would pick every day but I did enjoy it.

The pumpkin and creme brulee beers sound great and I'm not really a beer person. I might have to try some of this stuff...

Thanks for all the well wishes, I'm keeping my food iced and elevated. I'm off to the Big E next weekend (Eastern States Exposition, basically the state fair for all of New England) and I'll be doing lots of walking.

Hope you're feeling better soon:goodvibes

Well, I just looked at the pictures posted on Facebook of dh's high school class reunion last week (my class was invited, too, but he just went to the get together after the football game). All I can say is DO I LOOK THAT OLD, TOO????? I didn't even recognize most of these people and I went to school with them for 6-12 years!! Man, I hate getting older.

By the way, today is my 42nd birthday. Think that has anything to do with it?! :rotfl2:

Happy birthday Jamie! And no you're not that old and you don't look old! 42 is young and remember age is just a number:thumbsup2

I'm not on facebook (can't get into it for some reason) but my 2 best high school friends are and sometimes we just sit around and look at pics of people from high school and most of the time I never recognize anyone and a lot of times I don't remember who they are -- I think I may have blocked out some portions of my high school years. Should be interesting at our 25th high school reunion this November. Not sure how we can be having our 25th reunion when I'm only 25:rolleyes1

Thanks everyone for all the :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: - yesterday at sail away time I just had to walk away from the computer... and some are posting on FB from the cruise... so I hope it will get better as the week goes on...

& thank GOD B&J is on sale this week!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Here's a :grouphug: Michelle!

I officially start my new job tomorrow. The best part is instead of driving an hour to get to work it will be 10 minutes!:cool1:

Congrats and good luck on your first day:banana::banana: Yay for the short commute:cheer2::cheer2:

I saw the movie last weekend and I agree, Meryl Streep was fabulous! I'm reading the book now.

:banana:Finally got dates for F&W:banana:. We will be there10/22-10/26. My 40th birthday is on 10/24:goodvibes. We will also celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary:hug:.

Freudian slip?

I hope Mt. Tam isn't in the Cowgirl grab bag I get for October now...since Lori's already had it. Maybe I will make my own grab bag and substutute Red Hawk. (There is a Cowgirl Creamery outlet in DC a couple blocks from my office and they sell cheese grab bags. Hey maybe a second cheese grab bag for the party)

I have a couple bottles of Kennebuckport Pumpkin Ale from TJ's. Not the greatest pumpkin ale but it works watching football...'tis the season. It's sitting in the freezer till halftime.

Hey, I don't mind if you bring more of that stuff with you in the cheese grab bag. I like it! I found something at this place that isn't cheese, but will go well with cheese. And I think you'll like it.

No, we don't have a Fresh and Easy store. And that store name does give me the giggles.

Gale Gand and Rick Tramonto are on Iron Chef, taking on Mario Batali and his orange crocs in Battle Fennel.

Yep, I'm here. I saw the Fennel battle. Rick was supposed to host the Flying Fish food and wine dinner for 10/15, but I think he must have dropped out. I am bummed.

So I went to Costco today, and they were showcasing Kirkland brand wines. They sold me on the Cabernet, and I took a bottle home to try out.

Damn. I need to go back and buy a couple more bottles, even though they are $21 a hit. This stuff rivals some of the more expensive cabs I've tried. I hate that Costco showcases items that disappear.

I still don't know how to locate that bison pastrami I loved.

bison pastrami? that sounds interesting ... where did you first find it?

EDITED: as I read your post again I think Costco must be where you first found the pastrami. Sweet Jeebus ... I really am losing IQ points. I know I was a lot smarter three years ago than I am now ... I wonder what happened? Too much booze???

Thanks Robin! It's hard being a baby genius, isn't it! :rotfl2:
