Might I please ask for a few hugs...

I know it sounds trivial... but Planky and I (and Mom) are SUPPOSED to be on the Magic at this very minute...

A years full of planning got shot to you know where by work (it's crunch time...) and it wouldn't be such a big thing except that a lot of my friends from the PC repo are on the ship this week and it was to be a reunion of sorts. They are starting to post pics on FB and I am having a hard time feeling happy for them. Alot of tears were shed at the decision and now that the day is here... I'm having a hard time dealing with it... :sad1:

I know that someone is going to point out the sailaway from the jetty at PC... I think I need to step away from the computer for a bit... :guilty:

Some hugs coming your way -

Michelle, first off, I'm so sorry you had to cancel your cruise! I just wouldn't even look at Facebook this week, but that's me. You don't have to be happy for them yet, this will come after many pints of Ben and Jerry's. ;)

And thank you so much for posting this link. I read trip reports all the time, but I hadn't seen this one at all. I was getting on here to gripe about Disney's dining page being down, worried would it work Wed., blah, blah, blah. This really puts all that in perspective. Thanks, Michelle! :goodvibes

I couldn't have said it better!

Yesterday (ok the whole week) was really sucky but sometimes we need to step back and see all the good, the magic and that the bad can be a lot worse than what we've got.

A slight bit of food porn...

For some reason I am very much into beer right now and wine has taken a back seat. One of my favorite breweries is Southern Tier in New York and in the past couple of weeks I have thoroughly enjoyed their
body_pumking22ozbottle.jpg

and the
body_cremebrulee22ozbottle.jpg

Both are full-bodied and the creme brulee is dessert in a bottle! I was also served a tasting of the Creme Brulee mixed with their Cherry Saison (which I don't like on its own) and it tasted like a Tootsie Roll. Our Capital Ale House has been very adventurous lately! :thumbsup2

Last night, Kristin's best friend gave me a bottle from the Founder's Brewing Company in Michigan. She knew that I like their

boy did I have to edit the name of this beer and the label!!!
founders_dirty_bxxtard.jpg

and figured I would also like this:

It was BIG. It is a double chocolate, coffee, oatmeal stout. I felt like I could chew it. It is not something I would pick every day but I did enjoy it.

Mmmm, beer porn! Those sound really tasty. Our Ofallon brewery has come out with a chocolate cream stout that was aged in bourbon barrels - the stores around here are limiting people to two 22oz bottles each so I'm going to have to go find some for Jay this week.

I love how you tried to "fix" the label on that one bottle ... :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the well wishes, I'm keeping my food iced and elevated. I'm off to the Big E next weekend (Eastern States Exposition, basically the state fair for all of New England) and I'll be doing lots of walking.

I'm asking for good thoughts, prayers, whatever you can offer. We had to put our beloved 14 yr old dog Sammie down yesterday. I thought she was having stomach problems for about a week but it worsened and it turned out she had a large mass on her kidney. The vet said she would probably deteriorate very fast so it was the only decision I could make for my sweet girl. As y'all know my boy left for college last month now my baby is gone. The house is eerily quiet. Hopefully I'll get better with time, all I keep doing is hugging her blanket. Sorry to depress everyone.:sad1:

Kathy I'm so sorry

Back with some more food porn.

After a day at the Space Center, Ron Jon's Surf Shop and Cocoa Beach we went to DTD for some shopping and dinner. We decided to try T-Rex and sat at the very cool Shark Bar.

I had a blue margarita YUM!
ry%3D400

Rick had the Mega Mes-O-Bones and I had the Boneyard Buffet. The ribs were excellent and the chicken was good! We had a great bartender and made friends with others at the bar. It was a good time :thumbsup2

Next night we had dinner at Kona. It's been years since I ate there for dinner and we had a very nice meal with good service. Once again we couldn't do dessert :sad2:

Started with bread, I really like the macademia butter.
ry%3D400

We had the sticky wings for an appetizer. They were really good, I think Rick had about 8 of them :lmao:

ry%3D400

Rick had the ginger crusted ribeye which he enjoyed.

ry%3D400

I had the teryaki strip steak, I thought it was to come with mashed potato but it had rice. The rice was good but Rick's potatoes were much better. I started to cut into the steak before taking a picture :scared1:

ry%3D400

I also had another blue margarita.

We enjoyed our dinner at Kona and made it back to BLT in time to pour a drink and head up to Top of the World lounge for Wishes.

Our last dinner was at Wolfgang Puck Express. Old faithful, the rosemary chicken with garlic mashed potato. This is the one meal I've eaten at Disney more times than any other since we seem to go there every trip for a quick meal. I had a glass of chardonney, it was okay, nothing to write about!

ry%3D400

A nice weekend of eating at Disney! We used the DDE (I hate calling it Tables in Wonderland :sad2: ) and saved a good amount of money. It was well worth the cost of the card, I got 3 trips on this card!

Wow, that's one big mound 'o potatoes with the ribeye! Was the ginger too obvious? Everything looked wonderful! You know if Kona would just add some bread pudding to it's dessert menu, I wouldn't even stress to get an 'Ohana adr this trip.

Oh man these look good. Beer is the one thing we never really have in the house, because the Spouse doesn't drink it at all. Is Pumking actually pumpkin flavored? If it is that sounds amazing, I can't get enough of that gourd.

:scared1: Your hubby doesn't drink beer??? That is so against the stereotype I don't even know what to think. Tell me more 'cuz I'm intrigued, especially since he's originally from this area. I thought everyone born in Missouri had beer flowing through their veins along with the blood.

I could have "fixed" it more, but I figured that was enough to get past any DIS censors. I had to change the title of the photobucket picture because the DIS kept ****ing it out! Then the link wouldn't work. :rotfl2:

I see your brewery also makes a Pumpkin. Wonder how it is? I think this is the one I would want to get my hands on though. I love the name!!

Well, I just looked at the pictures posted on Facebook of dh's high school class reunion last week (my class was invited, too, but he just went to the get together after the football game). All I can say is DO I LOOK THAT OLD, TOO????? I didn't even recognize most of these people and I went to school with them for 6-12 years!! Man, I hate getting older.

By the way, today is my 42nd birthday. Think that has anything to do with it?! :rotfl2:

No beer? :upsidedow Well, my DH is not much of a wine drinker, so I guess I can't say much! :rotfl:

The Pumking is the pumpkiniest of all I have ever had. It is spicy and full of flavor. Just delicious!

I liked the Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale (Easton, PA) the past two years but not so much this year. :confused3 I also tasted their Harvest Beer last night and thought it tasted like cigarettes! No one else "got" that essence at the tasting, though. :rotfl2:

:cheer2:Happy Birthday:cheer2:

Also, I only graduated in 2000 and when I look at people on facebook I can't recognize 1/3 of my graduating class and even my former BFFs all look different to me. It could also be because I've blocked most of those years from my mind by now.

:bday: Jamie!!!

Laura - did you graduate from HS or college in 2000?

Happy Birthday! And of COURSE you don't look as old as those other people in your class. You haven't aged a bit.:cool2:

Pumpkin is my favorite. DS10 wants to be a pumpkin farmer when he grows up.:rotfl:
Hey, I just read your food report. AWESOME!:thumbsup2

High School:blush:

Well, he's techically from southern Illinois- then moved to CA when he was in grade school. I think he missed absorbing certain midwest characteristics. Come to think of it, he doesn't have certain westcoast characteristics either.

As for food- He doesn't like beer, doesn't like vegetables (except spinach), doesn't like "big hunks of meat", the list goes on. He was sort of the latchkey kid of wealthy parents, so they gave him money to get what he wanted to eat and he ate burgers.:sad2: He doesn't even like the taste of most alcohol. Only at the beginning of this year did he start drinking red wine, which he now loves.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- My husband is a gastronomical wet blanket.
