FABULOUS!!! :thumbsup2

& speaking of the little guy...

Bendy...

I just want you to know... that Planky is VERY picky about product placement and endorsements... but he made an exception for you...

(he also wants you to know... the check is in the mail... ;))

That's what I was thinking! :thumbsup2 The heat has come back to Stinktown with a vengeance this weekend ... heat advisories and all. :headache:

Here too. It is 96 with a heat index of 111 right now. Cooler in WDW!

Unfortunately for Kouzzina you have to call, but I wasn't on the phone more than 5-10 minutes.

Sometimes with the TR titles the harder you think the harder it is to come up with something...at least that's how I am. I've been trying not to think about it much at all but that's not helping either! :rotfl2:

Well, then I suppose I will call. Bob wants to ditch Flying Fish and keep Todd's Spot for our special meal of the trip. He also like the breakfast pre-menu at Kouzzina so I will add it. I finally got Fresh today for another morning.

ETA: One of Bob's reasons for not going to FF is that his steak is the most expensive thing on the menu. I guess he hasn't looked at the 2 lb. Cantonese lobster on Todd's menus.... That is what I am ordering! :rolleyes1

Reservations finally opened up for Fresh? Every time I tried to book one, whether online or on the phone nothing was available for the length of our trip. And that struck me as decidedly odd.

Jay loved the cantonese lobster at bluezoo last year ... says it's worth every over-priced penny you will pay.

Now that I've seen the probable breakfast menu for Kouzzina I talked it over with Jay and we just switched the 10/18 ADR we had for The Wave over to Kouzzina. This will be a lot better since we can just walk there from the BCV.

Very happy so far with the way our dining marathon is laid out ... can't want to have it finalized after Tuesday morning. I think I'm also getting very close to starting a pre-dining TR ... just struggling with finding the right title. It's gotta be a good one since this will likely be our Disney Dining Swan Song for a while. I guess I'm going to have to pass off the Queen of Food Porn title to someone else after this. :rotfl2:
I'm very boring, I just put dates in my thread title and dining reviews. I may start my pre-dining reviews soon too, just as soon as I finish my actual reviews from last trip.

Yes! At least for what I was looking for. I tried booking through them directly to no avail either. I finally emailed the concierge for dining and THEY couldn't book it either. I did get an email saying they would pass along my request. But they got the date wrong. I don't even know who to try to contact to say, "never mind!"

I wanted to tell you all that I had an interesting conversation with a CM just now. This is purely a report of our discussion, has no basis for rumor (I don't think) and I am not suggesting anything will come of it. end of disclaimer....

We talked a bit about F&W Festival and she asked if I would be booking special events on Tuesday. I told her that we would not be doing any of them this trip and that I thought things had suddenly gotten expensive especially since they were offering so many room discounts and free dining that many people cannot use. She said she had been hearing that a lot and it had been discussed in meetings. She also said I should watch for the possibility that things could change or be forthcoming that would make me feel differently. When I mentioned the addition of the PFTS booklets later in the Festival last year as an example she said yes but that it could be free special things not announced or other offers.

:confused3  :upsidedow

BTW - I am not posting this on the F&W thread. Too much speculation over there on a daily basis!

Why am I guessing there will be a feta cheese omelet on the Kouzzina breakfast menu? ;)

I don't think I'll have a pre-trip report, but I think I'm going to call my report Gluttoberfest thanks to Catherine.

Brenda, I think you will continue to hold the title for quite a long time!

& for all of those trying some new mico-brews that taste a little interesting... just think of the bucket they probably brewed the stuff in..

Eeeeeeuuuuuuwwww!!! I'm glad I didn't read this last night while I still had the taste of that stuff in my mouth.

Rose' d'Anjou, Sauvion

I already told Jay one of the first stops we're making once we get settled in is to the wine shop in France so I can nab a bottle or two. :rotfl2: If I remember correctly it wasn't too badly priced ... maybe $15 per bottle.

I'm glad we tried something new last night, but I think just because of my personal wine preferences, I'm going to stay away from wines in the future that are pink.

I don't know if we've tried that! I haven't been impressed with any of the Rose we've had. Although I do like sparkling Rose, but the non-bubbly stuff all taste like white zinfadel to me.

Is this news to you all or is it new to me since I was away??

Starting October 27, 2009, Walt Disney World will move the booking window for Advanced Dining Reservations to 180 days, from the current 90 days. Walt Disney World resort guests will be able to book all dining reservations 180 days in advance of the day they check in, up to 10 days at a time. Non-Disney World Resort guest can make dining reservations 180 days in advance of their dining date.

Starting on October 27, 2009, guests will be able to book dining reservations up until April 25, 2010.

Rumor is that at the time of the change, all dining reservations will require a credit card guarantee. No official announcement has been made, I will update this post if/when that change is announced.

I hadn't heard that rumor. I'd be happy about both of those changes, I think.

Review of Freiberg Restaurant

So yesterday we decided to broaden our dining experiences here in East TN, and try something new.

Sounds yummy! Can't wait to hear more.

Especially cold duck... :thumbsup2
.

WHAT no cold duck!! Shoots that's what I was planning on bringing to our Cake Meet! ;)

Has anyone ever shipped anything down to their resort? I have some "party favors" for October that I want to have available on the 17th but I don't want to pack them into our luggage. Could I ship them out a couple of days before we arrive at the BCV and would they arrive OK? Do I have to do something special or let the front desk know?

Bob read the Festival brochure from cover to cover this morning and said that he really wanted to spend more time at World Showcase eating. We never got to everything last year and I missed that part of it too. So....

Here is what we have decided on as of 4:57 pm on Sunday, August 9, 2009... ;)

Friday, October 2 - early lunch at F&W kiosks, dinner at Chefs de France

Saturday, October 3 - lunch at Tusker House, I may pay $8 for Warren Brown's presentation, then dinner at ESPN for Bob, dessert at Beaches & Cream!

Sunday, October 4 - breakfast at Kouzzina, dinner at Raglan Road

Monday, October 5 - breakfast in the villa, lunch at Sci-Fi, dinner at the F&W kiosks

Tuesday, October 6 - breakfast in the villa or Beaches & Cream, lunch at Hurricane Hanna's, dinner at Kouzzina

Wednesday, October 7 - breakfast at Fresh, lunch at the F&W kiosks, dinner at Todd's Spot

Thursday, October 8 - lunch at Rose & Crown with a snack at the kiosks before we leave for home that evening

We ship stuff all the time... wine, Christmas decorations and gifts, snacks and cookies, etc.! It is who you use to ship that matters. If you send it one way it goes to the resort, if you send it another it ends up in some central shipping area and then has to be delivered. I will go back and see which way is the "right" one! :rotfl:

Only one more day until we can book F&W stuff, and I still haven't decided if I'm going to book the Wine View Lounge yet. I've been debating this for almost a month now, and I feel that if I don't I may regret it if it turns out to be really cool, or if I do book it I'm afraid I'd feel I wasted $75.

I think I may book it, because I think I'd rather "waste" $75 then not book it and wish I had.

I've shipped to both GF and the Poly via USPS Priority Mail and my stuff was there within 2 days. When I shipped back home from the resort they gave me all different options (USPS, UPS, FedEx).

Did you use the hotel's address and then put your name on it? Will the desk call once it arrives or will they just deliver it? Sorry to ask so many questions ... just trying to figure out the best way to do this and so that I'll know what to expect.

I can't help being anal ... it's what I do. :rotfl2:

Hate to interrupt but wanted to tell Chelle I'm keeping MIL in my prayers, now back to your regularly scheduled booze chat........

Chelle, I hope everything turns out okay....I'll put her in my prayers tonight.

Ironically enough, I put a bag of Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans in Mike's stocking every year at Christmas, and while he has tasted dirt, earwax and booger, he has yet to get a vomit one!:rotfl2:

Ugh! I hope things turn out okay with your MIL. Spending a night in the ER is no fun for her or you.

Kat - I hope you feel better soon. I think I would rather give birth again than have another ear infection. No wonder babies SCREAM!

Chelle - good thoughts for your MIL.

Thank you all for the good thoughts! :goodvibes

We did go down to the ER around 10pm to bring dinner to FIL, why he didn't eat before he left the house :confused3 Anyways.....Thankfully she went early enough that they caught it before it turned really bad. She has a history of perforated bowel issues and we were nervous. It's diverticulitis, but in the part of her bowel that doesn't get used (has a colostomy from previous problems), also a raging UTI. A round of nasty antibiotics and she should be fine :thumbsup2

I missed your post earlier! Free?? I can't imagine what they would change now except for the wine seminars & food demos. Only if they aren't filling up. :confused3 Who knows?

For those of you booking what events are you going to be shooting for?

We'll go for Blue Zoo Signature if I can't get that I'll try for the Culinary Adv in the morning & the Tequila Tasting that afternoon. Also try for Tutto Italia Pairing, French Regional Lunch.

I'm finding it very hard to choose, with almost everything on the weekends.
