Glad it is not worse, Brenda!

Our older DD has come to visit from Boston for the weekend. There will be much food porn.

Last night we had Yeungling and subs from WaWa so the porn starts as of today. :rotfl:

Hi All,

Speaking of booz and being brunk.

Has anyone ever tried Amarula Fruit Cream? It's from South Africa. The last time we were at the WL CL they had replaced the Bailey's Irish Cream with this. I was a little disappointed at first until I tasted it.

Goodness, I think this is so much better than Bailey's. I liked it so much when we got home I bought a bottle, although it didn't last long. Need more. :goodvibes

It's very much like Bailey's but has citrus undertones. Very yummy, either room temperature or over ice. Very creamy.

Anyway, try it!!!

Have a wonderful weekend.

I'm all grumpy this morning since reading the threads about the CP price increase and set menu. This trip is going to put me in the poor house if the price increases and add ons and buffet increases don't STOOOPPP. The fishing is back on and dd is begging to go to Bibbity Bobbity Boutique (never been) so they can stretch her hair back with a whole bottle of gel for $55 and now the CP. Mama can't even get a drink in MK to help get through that process!

I broke down and ordered dd a Mickey christmas outfit off of ebay and I found someone on etsy to make us tie dyed Christmas mickey shirts and matching mom/daughter shirts. I may go hungry but I'll look festive, by golly! I just love tie-dye, it's the dormant hippie in me. :hippie:

CP dinner for 3 - $150
MVMCP for 3 - $150
Shirts to look cute at MVMCP -$70
BBB - $55
Shirts to look cute after BBB - $50
Dessert party if continued - $50
Look on daddy's face when he adds all this up.....:scared1::eek::crazy::headache:

What else can I be when I have spend nin hours at the worj place and then go drink einght glasses of wine with a few piecxes of hceese? I ate lunch at noon ... and it's nine hours past noon at last chekc.

d oyou knwo what's more hard to drive home thjan a new CRV when you're under the influence? Your recyclable container that's been sitting at the ned of the driveway all day collecting rain water. :lmao:

If there'd been a state tropper in our cul de sac I'd have been been ticketed for wobbly container wheeling into the garage.

Seriously cool event ... you wouldn't believe that a glass could make a difference but I'mn here to tel you that I dfrank a cabernet tongiht that made myh toes curl like grand marnier souffle. I hate red wines but this puppy was da bomvb! :thumbsup2

And I took Homer Simpson for my date nonight .. erm, tonight. He photographs almost as well as Jay. And now I know why Jay is the essential ingerdient in these outings ... he's the one what keeps me from getting too brunk. :rotfl2:

I must say you have impeccable taste when it comes to cars (Passat and CRV - same as we have...and ok a BMW (but it's a 1992) - since I'll be in VIP area ie. the place to be seen at the Party for the Senseless I'll feel like I belong thanks to my bimmer :rotfl2:

Glad to hear Ms Brunk is doing OK today!;)

Elin - Can't wait for the porn!:goodvibes

Heading to Baton Rouge (LSU) with a cooler full of food for the boys today!

I also temped at a place where when I walked into work one morning I got a big warning and a big sign on my computer - they had a virus... Blamed ME of course.. but it ended up being the owner of the company using MY computer to download porn so his wife didn't see it on his computer (they worked together...) :sad2:

:rotfl:

If any of the Friendies have a ressie at Kona Cafe for dinner, SKIP IT.
We had one of the WORST meals EVER there last week. AVOID it.

I will fill in all the details in my DR, but I wanted to put that here, too...

Oh no! I hate to hear that. We've eaten there three times in the past year and always had a great meal. Although we are getting old...so may be our tastebuds or they were just having a good night/day with us.

They serve it over at AK CL too. Good stuff. Not easy to find at the liquor stores where we are. I've had to search for it and then stock up.

Uh oh! What did I miss with the CP pricing? I haven't had as much time lately to devote to cruising the boards so I haven't seen anything.

Now in our house, there is a reason daddy doesn't handle the finances. ;) Fred would have had cardiac arrest many years ago if he actually knew what we spent on our Disney trips. He just asks me if we have the money for something and I say yes or no...but I don't give numbers. He's learned not to ask for them either.

Glad to hear Ms Brunk is doing OK today!;)

There's a thread on the restaurant board and one on theme parks today that sounds like it is pretty certain. Someone called for one of the first CPs and got a CM that was willing to give details on what was offered at Le Cellier for an example. Also, that it is going to be two TS credits, which has way more people's knickers in a twist.:crowded:

No, DH doesn't really know what any of this costs (other than his fishing) and he's never really asked about anything in the past, other than the cost of the package. I take care of all personal/household bills; he takes care of the business bills and budget. He almost fell over when I told him that the two day DL hoppers were $400+ for us. He says as long as we have the reward dollars.....well, guess what? Ain't going to happen in totality for this trip. :rolleyes1 I'm already saving up in my t-shirt drawer like I did for the California trip.

I'm not touching the Candlelight Processional packages with a 28 foot pole. If I want to see one in Dec. I'll get a beer and stand in the back like I do for the Eat to the Beat concerts.

I haven't seen CP in several years actually.

Amarula's the best. They make a martini with it at AKL - at the Jiko bar. The Zebratini. I'm going to have a few while I'm staying there.

forget Brunky, how is Homer feeling today?

That's exactly what we do. :thumbsup2

Those are great! October we are going to Sanaa and I can't wait to have one of their Painted Lemurs, they sound really good!! "Amarula Fruit Cream Liqueur and Van der Hum Tangerine Liqueur combined in a Chocolate-striped glass inspired by the distinctive striped tail of the Madagascar Lemur."

Here's the post from a CP thread that lists the tiers and prices this year. I can live with lunch at Rose and Crown. Glad someone got some details.

Subscribing to this as well.

Just called Disney Dining and was told it was 90 days - not 90 +10 days.

There is a page on the website and it does not show the tiers - in past years it has. The agents have the Tiers and provided me with the information...And I had a very nice and informative agent.

Tier 1 Adults 32.99 lunch for 5:00 and 44.99
Germany
Garden Grill

Tier 2 Adults 38.99 44.99 (this last one does not sound right)
9 Dragonas
Morracco
Rose and Crown
Mexico

Tier 3 Adults 51.99 and 58.99 or 60.99

Chef de France
Coral Reef
Le Celliur
Japan (did not catch which one)
Italy.

The menu includes one appetizer, entree and dessert
Lobster is not included.

Question then - is it possible that there is a fixed menu for TS but not for cash????

I did request that the agent ask WDW to post the tiers on the website, presently the narrators are posted but not the tiers.

Lobster? what the heck? none of those places serve lobster. Maybe that's why it's not included.

TGIF, everyone! I'm really looking forward to this weekend......Mike graduates from his class tonight (and thank goodness, because that schedule of his was beginning to wear on me, not to mention on him....he's lost 20 lbs in the last 5 weeks!:lmao:), and so we are going out tomorrow night to celebrate. Nothing fancy though, since we have to take the kiddos with us....we'll probably just end up at Outback because they sent us a good coupon in the mail!:rotfl: Then on Sunday I am meeting a friend for sushi and we are finally going to go see Julie & Julia.

Hey everyone! :goodvibes I'm starting to sift through our vacation pics and pulled out the Magic Kingdom Dessert Party pictures for you! :yay: I'm not sure if anyone's posted dessert party pictures here yet, so I apologize if you've seen it before...

Overall we really enjoyed ourselves & I think we got our money's worth (especially with a 17-year old boy in tow!) The only problem was that it was really hot where the seating is set up. Our table was tucked in the back behind the dessert tables and there's just no air-flow! If you had a table outside of the overhang, it was just fine. So, we ate our fill and then staked a claim at the railing to watch Wishes. We met some really nice people there who ended up being DIS'ers! :thumbsup2 If they extend this, we will do it again. I'm sure it would be even better in the cooler months ahead. There was no shortage of goodies and at the end, they were even telling us to take some with us!

For anyone interested in seeing some Bay Lake Tower pictures, I posted some here on the DVC board...

I'll be adding a few more in the next few days. We really loved it there and have already bought more points! :woohoo:

Have a great weekend!
Cheers!
-Michelle

Michelle, I could die happy if I could attend that buffet! Thanks for the great pics!

That's how I felt when I started adding up how much our F&W trip was going to cost us....and that was even with a great discount at the Poly and free plane tickets. When I realized that we could take a cruise for half the price and with one extra day added to the trip, I just couldn't justify doing Disney this year.

I do have to say that you should definitely do the BBB for whogirl, though, if she's never done it before. She's at the age where she might not want to do it after this, and it really is a special experience for them. Emma did it last year, and was just glowing for the rest of the day.

Thanks for the heads up. I can live with these prices, in fact if correct, we paid $44.99 per person last year when we did R&C as part of our package so then there would be no change monetarily for us.

Heather, that was the exact argument I gave myself for caving in to BBB--I just feel like she's growing up so quickly all of a sudden. Same reason we're going to CRT if I can get the reservation. I don't want to regret not ever doing it (even though I'm hoping and praying they don't skin her hair back till her eyelids meet her ears!)

Alison, I'm much calmer about the CP prices now that I've seen them b/c we'd already planned on doing lunch so we could see the first show. Whew, that $60 was freaking me out for minute!

Lunch is definitely not bad at all. We always wind up doing R&C because Drew loves their lamb to death...but I thought I heard that its no longer on the menu, so if not then we may have to pony up for Tutto or LeCellier. :scared1: It may turn into a lunch for us also.

I agree about BBB also. My Rachel was never a girly girl, but now recently at 16, she has decided she wants to do it as well. :confused3 I'm not popping at any more kids at my age, so as much as I rolled my eyes when she said this, we're doing it for her. The years fly by so quickly. Hope you DD has a blast with it.

The one thing Emma didn't like about it was how tight the hair was! She said that it really hurt....but only for the first 20 minutes or so. Then she got used to it, I think.

Why do they do that--do you think people complained it came out too soon?
Do you think they would do it a little less tight if we asked? DD's hair stayed up just fine for her recital and she only had minimal gel put on AFTER I had it in a bun, plus it will have grown about another 3 inches since May by the time Dec. is here. We're going for the experience, not a week-long 'do!

Hooray Friday!

I just made Jay try a wine in our different glasses and he was stunned by the taste and aroma differences. So cool. :thumbsup2 Of course Grimace will think we're even bigger snobs now because of our fancy schmancy glasses. :rotfl2:

Also have tried Amarula and have to say I'm not crazy about it. A little too fruity and sweet for our tastes ... we have 3/4 of a bottle in our kitchen that a friend gave us a few years back. She loves the stuff. Different strokes for different folks. :goodvibes
