Welcome home, Michelle!

Tonight in honor of completed vacation plans and in anticpation of the F&W festival Jay and I are going to try making Sazerac. We have real absinthe that we bought online from a Spanish retailer several years ago when it was still illegal in this country.

How'd we still get it delivered right to our house, no questions asked?

Beats me. I guess the Customs Agent was sleeping that day. :rotfl2:

I also found a bottle of Peychaud's bitters ... did I spell that right? Those are the ones from New Orleans. :thumbsup2

We figured we should try it now before trying it in October to make sure we like it.

AND ... is it wrong to want to book that dinner at the Wave? I guess I shouldn't even consider it because X & Y wouldn't like it and that's their last night at WDW before they come home. It wouldn't be right for us to abandon them ... would it? :lmao:

Meh, that dinner is probably sold out by now along with everything else.

Do the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaave...............do the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave...you know you waaaaaaaaaaaant tooooooooooooo...(and some of us want to find out what they serve)

I wonder if I could send them to CA Grill alone and let Jay and me go to signature dinner? I feel really rude ... downright shamefully selfish, inconsiderate, and greedy.

The Next Food Network Star: the Booze Smuggler:lmao:

I have been known to smuggle cuban cigars, too. :rotfl2:

OK ... irony can be pretty ironic ... I'm on hold again with Disney Dining and they're playing that damn Main Street song! :rotfl2: Somebody fetch me my flamethrower!! :lmao:

I hate that song. I run when I see them coming.

So how did that wine thing go. I should look back to see what went on while I was drinking Shag-tinis at Disneyland.

I tried and I failed ... no availability at The Wave. I'm a little surprised by that but maybe I shouldn't be.

As to the wine thing ... it kinda fizzled - there were only two of us that I think were doing any drinking and my wine wasn't very good. I made up for it the next day by opening a bottle of Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio. :thumbsup2

Ok. Now you're certifiably nuts. Crazy. What's the point of shelling out all this money to make the Sazerac now when you can buy it for $4 at the kiosk in October and not spend so much money on the ingredients? Oy.

I wish I had a headslap smiley for you. You're totally bass ackwards, lady! :rotfl2:

you misunderstand ... I only shelled $3 for a bottle of bitters today. We already had the other ingredients ... they were purchased years ago. I thought I said that we bought the absinthe some years back, but maybe I only typed that in my head. :lmao:

this sazerac isn't half bad ... kind of reminds me of a Manhattan (must be the bourbon). I probably didn't make it exactly right ... what can I say - we don't keep lemon twists in the house - but it's tasty. I will be most interested to see what is produced at the NOLA booth at F&W ... this drink is all booze. :lmao:

not going to do a pre or actual trip report for the Overhyped Disney Restaurant tour in 2 weeks. just food porn and the Simpsons Pictorial Review System. As live as I can get it since I'm in DVC for 8 nights with free internet and have no club to hang out in at night anymore.

You know we'll be waiting to see it all! :thumbsup2

Can't wait. :goodvibes

Has anyone seen Chefs vs City on Food Network? It just debuted last week and is a kind of food relay race between 2 Food Network Chefs and 2 local chefs in whatever city they are in. Anyhoo....it's on right now (for you East Coasters) and they are in Vegas, which I know is a favorite destination for many of you.;)

I love the early 60's music, but could never really get into the Woodstock era music. But then I was raised listening to 40's & 50's music and showtunes, so that probably explains why!
