Thanks Tink. Now I miss wonderful museums.:guilty:

Thank goodness I have Pumpkin Beer to help me get over it.:thumbsup2

Yeah... but how's your hormones??? Mine are all over the place... :sad2:

Mine are fine, as long as I take my little happy hormone pill!!!! I had a total hysterectomy about 8 yrs ago. My DH said if had known my hormones were the reason he had to live with Mrs Jeykll/Mrs Hyde he'd have paid a doctor to take it all out 20 years earlier!:rolleyes1

Ohhh God Bless those little pills...

I had to convince my ob/gyn to put me on them in June then he told me he wouldn't renew them until he gave me a stern lecture about all the side effects (which were really because of Prempro, not the others...) so I went yesterday to my regular Dr. who is a woman... explained it all and she gave me a years renewal...(with check ups to see how I'm doing with bloodwork and all...)

I'm sorry... but I think when it comes to female problems... I don't think Male Drs. get it... I will stay out of their prostates if they stay out of my ovaries... :rolleyes1

Remember those cool Riedel wine glasses we got last month at our wine tasting? Tonight we had some lovely cabernet with dinner and just a few minutes ago were washing the dishes ... I suddenly hear this clinking behind me, turn around, and Jay is standing with the monster-glass falling to pieces in his hand. All he was doing was drying it ... like we do with all our glasses ... and this thing just suddenly fell apart. He didn't drop it or hit it or do anything but run a dishtowel over it (100% cotton cloth ... no weird fibers that might have cause a problem ).

Now I wonder if we were given the outlet mall version of Riedel wine tasting glasses ... drink at your own peril for only $50! :rotfl2: I have never seen a wine glass do that before ... I've dropped waterford crystal on our hardwood floors and the end result was a dent ... in the floor. :lmao:

Poor Jay, he's had a rough day. :headache:

My hysterectomy was 2 years ago, but I still have my ovaries. No problem except that now I follow my 15 yr old daughters cycle :scared1: Her cycle is so bad that I'm taking her to the GYN on Monday - Jekyll & Hyde would be an improvement for her

:scared1: Poor Jay, I'm sure he felt bad about it even thought it wasn't his fault

Sorry about the glasses. Sounds as if they gave you some factory rejects or something. I don't have Riedel glasses, but jeez...aren't they supposed to be a bit more sturdy than that? Yikes! I'm sure Jay feels terrible, but obviously it wasn't his fault. Hope the weekend is better for you both. :goodvibes

Rejects for sure ... just when you think you've gotten a good deal your wine glass crumbles in your hand. Thank goodness there wasn't any wine in it when that happened ... now that would have been a tragedy.

We're going to a wine dinner tomorrow night with some friends ... as long as we're not going to be washing or drying the dishes we should have a fine old time. :thumbsup2

How annoying that must have been about to have a wine glass break for no reason.
Hope you have a great time at the wine dinner tomorrow.

Our weather is supposed to turn yucky (and cold!) the few days before we leave. They're predicting a low temp of 32 degrees the morning of our flight. Ugh. So, I decided to check and see if any hotels near the airport offer a park here/fly package. They do. I made a reservation. It will be so much simpler to just be right there. Hubby seemed impressed I thought of it. :thumbsup2
I'm not an extreme cold weather girl, friendies. One of these days we'll find our way back to the south or midwest. :yay::cool1:
In the meantime, Florida, Food and Wine suits me fine!!:dance3:

I try to tell as many people as possible about this [only benefits me in that I feel better when I use it...I don't own the company or anything, LOL]:

DD15 and I use this: http://www.hmenterprises.com/Howtousehpms.html

It's a very natural progesterone cream. For me, it's alleviated those "I'm getting older but not quite menopausal" symptoms, including bringing me back from the brink of "un-sane-ness" last year. I went from being curled up in a ball crying to functioning better than I have in years.
[Many of the moms in our homeschool group have started it also, and we're a much happier group now. :lmao:
My dh says about me - "I don't care if it's just a placebo, we're going with it! LOL]

My dd uses it, and now can get of of bed on "day 1" and has shortened down from 9 days to 5 or 6. Another friend's young adult dd can get through the first couple of days without throwing up since using it.

Instructions for different circumstances are at the bottom of the page that I linked. When I'm not pregnant, I go through a tube in about 3-4 months.

Hope that helps someone, it's been a miracle for us, and didn't require a prescription or a male doctor telling me I'm crazy. Oy.

Thanks for the link! I think I'm getting to the point where this will help a lot. There is a product out there called Remifemin that I took for 6 months while I was taking lupron shots for my endometriosis ... I think I would have driven myself into the river if my doctor (female) hadn't told me about this stuff because that drug induced "menopause" was horrible!

Having said that ... there are many days when I wish my doctor had just taken the entire plumbing system out in 2006 when she had the chance ... and she had two chances that year. But my problem is that she would have had to have yanked the ovaraies too and with endo there's no guarantee that the big H will alleviate all of the problem since those damn lesions and scar tissue can end up all over the place.

Anyhoo ... I think I may try that stuff and see what happens. :thumbsup2

Link to a Tequila Tasting Review:

Someone posted this link on the restaurant boards! I've linked to the DIS post - the link to the actual review is in that post. Looks like a good event but I think the tequila pours look a wee bit stingy. ;)

Which Pumpkin beer do you have?:drinking1

Jack's Pumpkin Spice Ale. It was pretty good. I only had one, as it's a regular beer and it has more calories than the crappy light beer that I drank in the hot tub.

Holy crap! What the heck?

Morning...

Freezing my little :lmao: :lmao: butt off this morning... hit the upper 30's last night...

Here's a free download of Harry Connicks new song from Oprah.com...

it should work until later today... give it a try...

it's a good version of "All the Way"...

I downloaded the whole album from itunes the other day....the whole thing is great....although I may be a bit prejudiced because I adore Harry Connick Jr!

One of my good friends was on lupron for her endo, Brenda, and she had the same experience....only she was on it for 2 years. She was like a different person while she was on it....the mood swings were horrible.

I'm going to tell you guys a little story that will demonstrate just why I loves my hubby so much.

Today purely by accident while I was multi-tasking at work I found a little blip about a beer dinner that The Scottish Arms is hosting next month. Turns out it's on the evening of October 13th ... the night before we leave for WDW. Being me I still had to call the restaurant to ask about the price and the menu. And then I had to email Jay with the details.

$50 per person, beginning at 7PM that night:

1) Beer & Cheese Soup served with Smithwicks
2) Some kind of salad served with Hoegaarden
3) Braised Short Ribs served with Belhaven Ale
4) Stuffed, Smoked Quail served with Spaten Optimator
5) Figgy Pudding served with Belhaven Wee Heavy

Jay's email response to me was this:

FIGGY PUDDING!!!!

In Jay speak that usually translates to go ahead and book the dinner. Since we're both taking a full two weeks off we have plenty of time to pack and get organzied before we leave. So by Tuesday night we're just going to be sitting around watching the clock tick off the minutes. And, the reason I loves my Jay so much ... he said, "I know how much you wanted to try to get to WDW a day early so we could go to that signature dinner at Raglan Road. Now we can still have a beery signature dinner and it will be like a pre-vacation celebratory glutton-fest."

:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc
Jay is a keeper and thats a good way to kick off vacation!

Bummer on the quality of the glass and really lucky that it didn't break and go into Jay's hand and need stitches!

Thanks for the link Brenda. The review looks really good, aside from the stingy pours.

Heather ... your friend was on Lupron for two years? :scared1:

The FDA only approves 12 months maximum and even the second 6-month course is frowned upon. She could have serious bone density issues because of that (along with other things). I blame the lurpon for a lot of my joint issues, none of which (other than my back) were ever a problem before I took those injections. All the lupron did was limit some of the lesion growth between surgery ... it did nothing to stop all those ovarian cysts from reforming. I ended up losing 3/4 of my right ovary and 1/2 of my left ... she did that rather than the H because of my age - didn't want me taking synthetic hormones at such a tender age I suppose. And it has been better since then but I take birth control three months straight followed by one month off with mother nature's curse. I'm dreading the day my GYN tells me I have to give up BC because of my age. At that point I may just tell her to yank it all.

Alison ... I know I'm a greedy girl when it comes to drink pours. :lmao:
