I hijacked another thread but figured I would get more responses with a new one:

For those who bought their dcs bendaroos for xmas, how are they? My dd is 4 and wants them, but I was afraid they would be another 'as seen on tv' toy that looked great but does not really work well. (I am thinking of aquadots in particular- do you remember them?)

So, for those who have kids that got them, are they as good as they look on tv? Do you think a 4 yr old could handle them?

Thanks!

I have to subscribe to this thread. My son wants them to and I am unsure if he should get them for his birthday in february(he'll be 7)
as for aquadots...they are now called pixos and my son wants those stupid things to...

Don't bother with Pixos -- we traveled out of state for Christmas, and that is one of the gifts I left behind for a later date. DS7 played w/ it for about 3 minutes. The little balls just kept getting all messed up. That's why I should never have let DH take DS4 to the store to buy his brother a gift. :sad2:

DS7 was very frustrated with Pixos. DD10 is fine with them.

The bendaroos seem to be okay. They haven't used them much, though.

(I didn't purchase either of these-they were gifts)

Bendaroos are ok. They are just little wax strip things. Exactly like "wikki stiks" if you know what those are. If you've ever gotten a kids meal from Zaxby's - the wikki stiks they give as the toy are exactly like the bendaroos.

My DD5 loves her pixos, but I will admit that she gets a little frustrated and the balls roll out of place.

This was my exact question about Bendaroos. DD saw them on TV and wanted them--i was thinking birthday. But maybe she will be happy with Wikki sticks.

My dd wanted Benadroos & Pixos for Christmas- I told her no Pixos- I did not like that there were chemicals involved. She is almost 6 so I was sure she wouldn't put them in her mouth but I justdidn't like the chemical easpect. The Bendaroos I got her- she can recite the entire ad from the tv about them- she went through them in about 20 minutes & was done. covered everything she could find with them. I am going to have to get more. She really liked them.

My kids wanted Bendaroos but I waited too long to find them.Pixos has been used everyday by my DD who is 5. My 10 yo likes it too. Dh went and bought more refills too.

I posted on the other thread about the Bendaroos. My DD5 & DS9 LOVE them. I use Wikki Sticks in my classroom. I like that the Bendaroos can be used for educational purposes, also, and plan on using them to review spelling words with both of my kids.

All I know is that the commercial is definitely annoying :)

Some of the "ideas" they come up with are quite funny too

My kids got both Wikki Sticks and Bendaroos for Christmas. They loved both, but DD8 says Bendaroos are superior because they "stick better." My kids have spent HOURS playing with them. Not strange for DD who loves anything to do with arts and crafts, but DS6 loves them too! I still think they are glorified pipecleaners and think they are WAY overpriced, but the kids do love them and play with them.

DS6 thinks they are too hard and boring, because he can't create the stuff that they make on TV. DS#1 &#2 have made words with them and stuck them to their doors. But otherwise they were a bust. I think I would have been better off buying them an extra couple of Bionicles ;)

My kids are 5 and 6. They got them Christmas morning, and they played a good 2 hours. They don't stick too well to each other art-wise, but my kids were getting a kick decorating the sliding glass door. And I loved them, because when they were done, I peeled them of and put them back in the bag.
So right now, I rate them higher than moonsand and floam! But not a "favorite" by far.

I can't believe someone ask about these! I can't STAND bendaroo's! First off I think there a big ripoff! There just strings dipped in wax. They don't do what the commercial shows. My son is SO crafty and we got him alot of these because he ask for them back in September for his birthday. They didn't seem so bad in the beginning but before I knew it I was vacumming these things up and they were constantly stuck to EVERYTHING in my house! We just xmas cleaned this weekend and they ALL went into the trash! Also in the commerical they show them sticking to paper plates before I knew it all of our plates were disappearing :lmao: Once I saw the tv add for the 100th time I realized hmmm... thats where all my plates were going!
