Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

Lori (and all the Disney foodists) have you seen the 5/09 menu for Bistro de Paris on Allears?

The Degustation Menu has...

wait for it....

Foie Gras Terrine. (For an extra $5 of course)

Some may want to think of that as an option for October. Looks like it costs a bit less than V&A costs, for the degustation menu with wine pairings. Without it seems to cost a good bit less than V&A. But who wouldn't want the wine pairings? AND they take The Discount Formerly Known As Disney Dining Experience.

I know Allears menus aren't always devastatingly accurate, but they do pretty well - and it's also a long time to October

I think Brenda had that once, didn't like it because it was a cold slab o' foie gras. I like foie gras any way I can get it, so this might still be an option.

I'll let you know how it goes... unless you get there before me this weekend! ;) BTW, here's a link to Top Chef Masters on Hulu...

Top Chef Masters

It says that they will have 2 full episodes up at a time, so keep an eye on that page. They should be posting the episodes soon. We love Hulu over here and have a laptop hooked up to our living room TV to watch shows on demand. Works great! :thumbsup2 I watch House & Fringe and several other shows on there. :goodvibes

Oh, and we are totally going to Graham Elliot! ... and Alinea but we've got to save up for that one! LOL!

Thanks for the Hulu heads up! :thumbsup2 And yes, Graham Elliot and Alinea are two places I'd love to go to!

Me again! I've got one more foodie tidbit!!! :thumbsup2

My daughter, Jordan, just sent me the link to this new movie coming out and I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!!!

Julie & Julia

Yes, it's about Julia Child and OMG, Meryl Streep is PERFECT! I predict another Oscar win for her! :goodvibes

I can hardly wait!! And I second your Oscar prediction! :cool1::cool1:

Yep ... we had the foie gras terrine at Bistro when we did the tasting menu a couple of years ago and don't care for it cold. But if you do like it that way it's a great price. And we loved our meal there - it's a great price with or without the wine pairings. :thumbsup2

Officially adding Bellevue Lounge to my to-do list!

Just started the Julie & Julia book and really enjoying it!

Oh and have added Top Chef Masters to my DVR record list.

Thanks for all the recommendations, friendies! :goodvibes

I think Bellevue Lounge is great. I once spent a long time there chatting with the bartender (too early for dinner at FF) and he gave me the lowdown on why Disney served only boring beer - but he said there were some more interesting ones coming, like Sam Adams seasonals, and he was right!

Only downside is it does not serve food.

I'm sort of pumped - foie gras at Disney and it isn't from that maverick Todd English.

I must see that movie! Looks awesome. Julia Child was so much fun to watch on TV. I love to see how they bring her background to life.

Forgot to mention a couple of things:

Garden Suites at Boardwalk Inn: I was in a "loft" suite, with a staircase. It had a wonderful quality about it that I think would have been perfect for honeymooners. Even though I am not qualified to speak for honeymooners, I wouldn't mind staying there if I was on a honeymoon. ;) The downside was that you had to do a lot of maneuvering to get to the Concierge Lounge.

Bell Vue Lounge: It's practically perfect, but as Catherine said, no food.

And I did forget to mention how fun the Pam Smith signature pic was. Nice take on the "nine" part, Catherine. LOL!

happy Friday everyone! I'm so glad this week is almost over.

Kinda bummed because we've had to cancel three foodies events this month thanks to my ... outbreak. Two dinners and a drink-fest at the opera this evening, but I'm so tired (and achy) by the end of the day that we thought it best to just let these events pass us by. There will be others.

There's always October! :cool1:

We are getting pumped now that our 90-day ADR date is fast approaching ... less than 30 days to reservation making time! :lmao:

I know what you mean....I think that the worst thing when I had the shingles was how tired it made me and how my whole body just ached at the end of the night. But it was probably a good idea to cancel the foodie events....I made the mistake of attending a friend's graduation dinner at a lovely steakhouse during my outbreak, and followed up my dinner with the one and only hydrocodone pill that I tried while ill. That's when I discovered that strong painkillers and I don't get along. Needless to say, my wonderful prime rib dinner didn't stay with me very long that night!:rotfl:

ya gotta love Pam :lmao:

actually when I was making the Homer sig for Brenda she wrote in the post where she described it "food and wine '09" and when I was typing that I heard Pam in my head saying "wine in '09 makes your day fine" and if she doesn't say that 350 times over the course of the festival this year I will be astonished.

How did I miss out on so much???

Oh yeah... pain killers... that'll do it...

Note to self... go back to Pg 166:upsidedow

does the reason they serve boring beer have anything to do with exclusivity / advertising agreements? Like how they serve coca-cola products but not pepsi products? Just curious.

We're having a bunch of loud and wicked storms roll through and I cant sleep so I thought I'd pop in here and see what's what.

We're home! I found out on our whirlwind vacay that we'll be moving to Texas, so I am pretty pissed off.

What did I miss?pirate:

LOL! Pam Smith, the hardest working host at F&W! :drinking1 I don't think I've ever seen her without a glass in her hand. ;)

Yeah, it was a fun night for storms, wasn't it? At least we didn't lose power. Did you?

Wow! That will be quite a switch for you! How soon do you have to move? BTW, I'm glad you had a good vacation. From what I read, it sounded wonderful!

Welcome back. I know the move to Texas was not what you had planned.

Hope all of you in the path of those nasty storms stayed safe.:grouphug:

We had lots of lightning and thunder and big rain but luckily didn't lose power. It looks beautiful this morning ... like the sky has been washed. :goodvibes

I want to fast forward to October ... I wanna go now!!! :rotfl2:

Briarmom, glad you made it home safely and my condolences on the Texas move. That stinks when you were expecting something so much more different and European. Dare I ask where in Texas you will be? I've only been to Texas one time - Dallas - and that was just when I was reviewing a loan portfolio so I only saw the airport, the bank, and a really crappy restaurant.

It sounds interesting but I'm confused ... one part of the press release says that reservations aren't required but then another part says walk-ups may be available but not guaranteed and then at the end it says pre-payment is required and reservations will start on June 22???

:confused3 Someone at Disney didn't have their coffee before they released that.

Take pictures Michelle!

Nice! I think I'm going to have to try booking that too. It would be a fun thing to do on our first night.
