I'm not worthy ... really. :worship:

Holy Buzz, Batman! That's some serious bartending going on in the Bendy household! I saw the first pic and thought, "well, that's not so bad, what's up with Grimmie?" And then I scrolled down...

and down....

and down....

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have to say I am very jealous of your rolltop secretary in the dining room. We passed one up years ago for $400 and I will never forgive myself. :sad2:

ETA: The food and table look lovely! Our house looks like the Griswald's.

We like variety ... and we love making tasty new drinks for our guests. Come on over for a drink some day!

It's funny that you mentioned the secretary ... when Jay's aunt & uncle moved to Vegas about 10 years ago they sold all their furniture. I didn't find out about the sale until nearly everything was gone (we were only engaged at that time and as far as his mom was concerned I wasn't "real" family ... actually I'm still not sure that I've jumped that hurdle, but that's a tale for next year). Anyhoo ... I always loved this piece of furniture and they sold it to us for exactly $400.

I love the inside of the desk with all the little drawers and storage slots ... it appeals to the little kid inside of me. :goodvibes

If you like little drawers, you would love our newest impulse buy--a library card catalog!

Happy New Years Eve!

The Champagne (purchased in Champagne) is chilling and we just booked 3 nights (starting Friday) in Paris.:cloud9: We're supposed to be in Ireland right now, but we opted not to go. Paris will do nicely.:dance3:

Those Domino things reminded me of the time we were in a hotel somewhere and Domino Days was on TV. We were hooked and it was on for hours.

The Youtube doesn't do justice to the sheer geekiness of Domino Day.:rotfl:

Bendy, I am jealous of the amount of booze you have. Grimace needs to learn to be a lush. Can you learn that, or is it an inherent skill?:scratchin

Paris ... Ireland ... sigh. You can be envious of our booze stash and I'll be envious of your ability to travel to places I'm likely never to visit.

As for Grimmie ... we think she is a latent lush. She claims that she doesn't drink, but give her a bottle of ruby port for Christmas and by the time she gets home from our house (about 45 minutes) she's got the top off the bottle because she's developed a terrible cold. Within 24 hours the booze is gone and she is miraculously cured. ;)

BEHOLD THE HEALING POWERS OF PORT!!!!!

:rotfl2:

Happy New Year .... I've gotta get moving for work but I'll be back this afternoon with the remnants of Christmas Day!

Be safe in your celebrations today and tonight ... wouldn't want any of our friendies to start out a new year on the wrong foot. :grouphug:

Happy new year right back at you and to everyone!
Be safe, eat well, drink better and have fun!
Cheers!:drinking1 :cake: :joker:

Happy New Year's Eve everybody. Watch out for the 'amateurs' tonight!:lmao:

Brenda, where's the Frangelico?

Happy New Year to you too and all the friendies :dance3:

I am in awe of the booze and noticed that most of them have already been comsumed

The beef looks so yummy my tummy is growling and it's only 9:40 am!

I've never tried the Christopher Norman cholocates and have always wanted too, especially the domino's. Are they worth it (when they arrive intact)?

I need to start from page one to read everything, but did I miss the bottle of Guavaberry in your pictures B? :confused3 Now if you were heading over to St Martin in October you could restock your stash.

Either that or whoever is driving is literally driving her to drink... ;)

It's at my house Jackie...

(you actually looked??? I just skimmed her mini bar... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

Happy New Year to all our friendies tonight!

B., I'll get a picture up tomorrow of the card catalog. And thanks for sending my 79 y/o mom on the road to lushhood! We made a last batch of milk punch at her house today and I asked for a little to take home in the empty bottle; it was smackdown in east tennessee! :rotfl: I am enjoying my paltry glass I absconded with now. (Yes, people it was safely in the trunk so no breaking of open container laws here!)

Everyone have a great evening!

A quick question, fellow lushes!

I'm making the Cranberry Margarita recipe tonight that someone posted earlier on this thread. I'm thinking about subbing some Champagne for the Sprite? Bad idea? I thought it would still be fizzy but even more delicious! And maybe add just a smidgey of triple sec? Or would it be gross? (And I don't mind a strong drink!)

I'll try to remember to take some pictures of the final creation, either way!

Amanda

Well, for what it's worth I think it sounds delicious substituting champagne for sprite (sprite is too sweet, IMHO). And you'd really get a great long lasting fizzy effect with the champagne.

The jury is out on the triple sec ... have you got enough to make the drink more than one way (like small batches to see which you like best before making a whole batch?).

I thought fondly of you and your mom when I made a double batch of milk punch this afternoon. :goodvibes

Enjoy what you managed to get your hands on and next time make some just for your house! :thumbsup2

You didn't look hard enough, MG.

The picture of our wine rack shows three bottles of unidentifiable stuff on the floor ... that's what left of the case of Guavaberry liquour I ordered last year (a friend and I split it ... six bottles for her and six for us).

YUM!!!

Hmmmmmm .... the dominoes. They were good, but I'm not sure if I'd suggest spending $50 on a box of them. The caramel inside was actually quite thin and a little bitter, not as sweet as I typically like my caramel to be. And the chocolate was dark chocolate ... I'm a milk chocolate fan first and foremost. So the overall consensus was that they were good but we actually like the caramel squares from Ghiradelli's better.

Still, if you get a chance to try something from Norman it's fun to try it ... just to see what it's all about. He's got a website with some really cool looking items. Just google him and check it out!

We had a bottle of Frangelico but neither Jay nor I liked it ... it was sooooo strong, even when we used it for mixed drinks.

I gave the bottle more than 2/3 full to my step-dad over the summer because he likes hazelnut. My mom drank the bottle within the week ... he never even got to have any.

But she doesn't drink. ;)
