Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

Thanks! Yes, we had a deluxe lakeview room. Just ask for something in the center and above the 20th floor when you check in! :thumbsup2

You will love staying at the Bellagio! It's the perfect place to start your honeymoon.:cloud9: Congratulations!!! We made reservations ahead of time for all of our Vegas dinners. :surfweb: We REALLY loved Michael Mina's restaurant at the Bellagio - that's my vote. I also enjoyed Alison's suggestion to you - Prime was amazing, too.

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

That's why we're friends. We think alike!

Here's a couple pictures of sunrise from our Bellagio room... (yes, we got up that early to take pictures... ;) ...or stayed up that late... I'll never tell!)

Wow those pictures are STUNNING!

ON THAT NOTE>>>>i have a vegas question!! Having never been there before, and going for 3 nights to kick off our honeymoon (yay!)...do you typically have to make reservations for restaurants prior to arriving or is this something you can do when you get there?? I am so used to pre-planning where we are eating for Disney that i have it in my head that i need to make ressies well in advance for everything! AND any suggestions for a nice dinner that won't completely break the bank ( the 2nd night will be our "fancy" dinner night...we might do it again the 3rd too, if we are feeling rich hahahh!!!

When we went to Vegas last summer for our anniversary, and I would suggest
1. Making reservations for anywhere you know you HAVE to eat at
2. Making reservations the day before or morning of for any restaurant you come across while there (this saved us waiting in a major line at Mon Ami Gabi)

We did do two walk-ups (one buffet, one not) without problems, so I guess it just depends on the restaurant. There are a million good places to eat in Vegas, though, so have fun planning! :surfweb: Cheapovegas.com does a pretty good comparison of restaurants, if you need some place to start!

Look! Pictures from the 1st Wishes Dessert Party at the Magic Kingdom! :yay:

Wishes Dessert Party

I can't wait to try it in August! :thumbsup2

Have a great day everyone! :goodvibes

We're counting on you for a detailed report you know! It looks fabulous with all those goodies and the view isn't too shabby either. Anybody know how many people they allow in this per night?

ETA: Nevermind...just saw on another thread that capacity is 160 people per night.

As someone who goes to Vegas partly for the food, I have always made our dining reservations well in advance of getting there, but I'm sure you can do it on the fly too...I'm just a chronic planner. I have plenty of suggestions for wallet siphoning dinners, but I don't think that's what your looking for. Jean-Georges Prime Steakhouse at the Bellagio is a favorite of ours. Yummy stuff!
good to know. i know, we love wallet siphoning dinners..but considering our vegas stop is the first 3 days of an 18 day honeymoon..we should be a bit more conservative ;) hahaha

awesome..thank so much everyone...great advice/suggestions :)

Those sunset pics from the Bellagio are amazing....and I'm putting my money down that you were still up, because I know when we went to Vegas for our 30th birthdays (which seems like a lifetime ago although it's only been 6 years...that's what 2 kids will do to ya!), there was no way we were getting out of bed before noon!:lmao:

Oh, I hope they extend that Wishes dessert party availability. I'd be willing to pay $18 per person just to not have to find a spot on a curb 2 hours before fireworks time! And the desserts don't look too shabby either!

When we finally do get up at the Bellagio, we order room service coffee. It comes on a silver tray--coffee, cups and saucers, ice water, flower and a paper. Pure heaven!!!:cloud9:

ok Hoop de Doo Food Porn it is - and I will take the photos before I start on the sangria. Last time I went they gave us sangria in cups to go and we had a party on the bus.

I've just booked a flight to Vegas in November - it is Southwest so I still have time to decide if I'm actually going, it's the time off work that may be the stopping point - but wow is it cheap to stay there now. No Bellagio for me though - I am at Bally's across the street so the extra cash can go for food and shows. I got great deals on shows and drinks in April. Even though Bellagio rooms are relatively cheap now the Bally's rooms are still half that.

I did all my online reservations for Aug/Sept and now I have 'Ohana, Coral Reef and Le Cellier - would never have gone to any of those if I had to call for reservations. Sanaa still doesn't work so I have to call for that and I also have to put vegan notations on a couple of reservations for one of my friends.

If they had wine for the MK dessert party (I know, it's MK) I would sign up for it. Anyway it ends the day before I arrive.

You have lots of fun planned! Looking forward to the hoop de doo photos.
Great price and good location-Bally's is good place to stay. You can't beat mid strip. And...it's just a few steps into the passage between Bally's and Paris that my fav burger place is. Have you been to Le Burger Brasserie? They have the absolute best hamburgers. I love the one with brie cheese and sauteed onions. Yummo!!!:woohoo:
That's usually our first night stop. We order hamburgers, and a glass of champagne. Lately they have brought it to the table in a little bottle, and poured it there. So fun. :flower3:

Cool to hear about online reservations. Hope your upcoming trips are a blast! :cheer2:

Yes, I have been to the Burger Brasserie, had a chicken and brie burger. I hear there are more burger places to try at Mandalay Bay and the Mirage. Mirage has the rum bar or whatever they called it - there was some creative spelling involved - where they had a peach and chipotle daiquiri. That was awesome. When you order it you think they are just going to give you the frozen stuff but first they pour tequila in the cup.

My favorite place is Mesa Grill at Caesars, last time I played slots until I made enough to pay for lunch and then sat at the bar there. The margaritas are expensive but they are really good. The one I ordered, I ended up watching the bartender squeeze three whole limes into it.

Today is our 14th anniversary! So I am making a Southern Living recipe for boneless BBQ ribs (and chicken) in the crock pot, twice baked potatoes, salad and key lime pie. Red Stripe beer is the drink of choice tonight, in honor of our honeymoon in Jamaica!

Yesterday was a poopie day indeed; had to have a root canal (cracked my tooth from grinding them at night) and it took SIX shots of Novocaine total. One of them was actually down into the middle of the pulp of the tooth! :scared1: You wouldn't think I'd be so anesthesia-resistant seeing that it only takes two glasses of wine to make me tipsy!

I feel the same way, wine would have been the clincher for me.;)

Happy Anniversary!!!! Please share the recipe for the ribs and chicken when you have time.:flower3:

I'm the same way when it comes to novocaine but I thought, like you, my tolerance for alcohol is so high, why am I like this with novocaine?:confused3

Hi Whogirl, A very happy anniversary to you!!! :flower3:
Your menu sound delish! (Hope your tooth is much better today.)

Tigercat, It's make or break for LSU in the Baseball College World Series game this evening. Go Tigers!!!:cheer2:
I so enjoy these games. College Baseball is a blast to watch!

Yes it is!!!!! They'd better play better than they did last night. It's so much fun for us as well, my son plays baseball and we know quite a few of the Tigers and their families...GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

And next time I'd opt for the wine - less of a hangover I think...

First off, I have to say, I've seen the pics of the dessert party, and it definitely peaked my interest. I loved the view as well. Unfortunately, we won't be there during those dates, so I'll have to live vicariously through whoever can go.

TDC Nala, sangria in to go cups? My kind of take home dessert!!!! :thumbsup2

I wonder if I could trouble the Friendies. I don't know why but I am seriously second guessing myself on a lot of my ADRs for my upcoming trip. To give you all a little background, we normally go with family (as in not just the three of us). Last year, we went just my husband, our son, and myself. It was wonderful. Went where we wanted, when we wanted and even changed ressies. During free dining, no less, it was so nice!

This time, I have the whole big clan in honor of my birthday. The group includes the three of us, my parents, my nana, and my father in law. My dad will be with us for three days, everyone else for the whole six.

The problem is that my mother doesn't like hardly anything I pick. Which is a whole other ball of wax. So I'm wondering if I tell you what I'm looking at, if any of you could tell me if you liked it, if you've eaten there lately, or even point me in the direction of some food porn if you have it.

Our first day I'm hoping to get a ressie for Nine Dragons. We haven't eaten there since the renovation, and I'd still like to try it.

The second day, I had wanted to try Ohana's for dinner. My mother, quite frankly, hates the menu. Everyone else is pretty much down for whatever I suggest. I've never been to Ohana's, so I'm not sure what to do here. Other possible ideas are having everyone go to Chef Mickey's for a late breakfast, because I think character dining would be fun with our big group, and my dad is still here on this day.

The third day, we have MNSSHP, and we pretty much leave the day open.

The fourth day, I'm having lunch at Sci Fi. Not because it's spectacular food, but because I think my four year old will love eating lunch in a car. Mom and Nana won't be joining us, they'll be going elsewhere.

The fifth day, we're having dinner at the Brown Derby to celebrate my birthday. This is a place my mom actually likes, and everyone likes, so score one for me.

The sixth day, we leave, but our flight is later, so we actually have time for breakfast on this day. I was debating another character breakfast, but I'm not sure.

Thank you so much if you read all that. So, has anyone been to / enjoyed Ohana's lately? Nine Dragons? Can you think of any other places...not knowing my family at all :lmao:...that you think is good for a big group?

Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

Sorry about the meltdown. Why can't folks learn to be nice and use their words?
Good luck with the bookings! One of these years we want to cruise.
It was almost comical when they wouldn't answer the phone and we were calling from the street :rolleyes1 Thankfully, they seem to have gotten over it now but :headache:
Whenever you're ready for that cruise, call me! :goodvibes

I was not blessed with patience either, here's a .

I love my friendies

I agree, something about Hoop De Doo food porn sounds like it should be wrong. :lmao:

I however, would love to see it.

I have no idea what that says about me. :rotfl2:
