I didn't see this posted already, so here we go.

Belle's new dress and hair was debuted in the parks, similar to how Cindy's was fairly recently.

I was 'meh' about Cindy, but I actually really love the new Belle dress!

Pictures for comparison...

And a closer look at new hair...

That is SO awful! The dress is a terrible colour and the hair is so disappointing! I absolutely hate the new outfits and hair!

I think whatever matches the movie is best. I like the new one's style but I feel as if the original one's color matches the movie best.

I like the old ones so much better! The new ones don't look like the princesses, to me. :confused3

Not loving it... pretty, but too 'southern belle' looking for Belle. She's supposed to be from France, not Dixie. And, the colour seems wrong. I thought Cinderella's was better - still recognizable. This one may leave people wondering who that character is supposed to be.

:thumbsup2 Well said, I was thinking the same thing! It looks nothing like the movie

Ooooo, very pretty. I like it, especially the hair.

That dress looks like something Scarlet O'Hara had made from curtains hanging in a bedroom at Tara. No, it doesn't even look that good. It is horrible! It looks so...cheap. Like a child's dress up costume. I don't mind the hair so much, but the dress. Oh the horror! Pass me my smelling salts.

I never really thought belle's formal dress translated well to real life. I always hated the weird yellow tubes on the old dress. I think it's cool they solved that problem while keeping the same feel. The roses are a nice touch too.

I like the design but it's not yellow enough. Make it work!

I like the old hair better, but the new dress is pretty. Can't comment on the color though, I'm colorblind. :thumbsup2

To me the new Belle just doesn't look like Belle. She looks like some southern bell dressed up, not the character from the movie. I don't know what it is, the color, the hair? It's just too different.

I'm annoyed with them changing much of anything about the way the princesses look. They should look like they are drawn, Disney! Seriously, what are you doing?

I like the new dress, even though the old one did look closer to the one in the movie. I don't like the hair much though.

I think the new style looks like a bride who's trying to look like Belle, if you know what I mean! I much prefer the old style - more realistic to the film.

Claire :)

I never liked the tube things on the old Belle dress but think the dress could have been re-done so that it still closely resembled Belle's dress in the movie. As others have said, the new dress is too pastel and it does look like it's straight out of Gone with the Wind. The new hair is pretty but doesn't resemble Belle's hair in the movie.

Obviously Disney is trying to modernize the princesses but I think they have done a terrible job reconciling the new looks with the movies. I guess they decided that pastel yellow is more appealing to modern girls than the old color and that girls will find loose ringlets to be a more familiar hairstyle in today's world but that won't work as a marketing strategy if little girls don't recognize the characters from the movies. Reminds me of the new Coke fiasco.

Where do you think those Southern Belles got their ideas for those dresses?

However, I'm pretty sure Beauty and the Beast wasn't based on 19th century France.

Oh...and I like it alright...but don't get why there are two colors of yellow on the new dress that doesn't appear to match very well.

I'm with you 100%! I am not a fan of the new style. I think she should be more authentic to the film. This one disappoints me :(

I love the new dress. I think it could have been more yellow and the hair should have stayed the same. However, it is much better than the atrocity that came before. :worship:
