Sorry I haven't been posting! I've been busy moving this past week! My roommates and I moved out of our apartment, and two of us are moving in with our new roommate (other one graduated) into a townhouse sometime in the next few days. Now that I've gone through the pains of moving out, I'm in no hurry to do it all in reverse. And then fall semester starts on the 17th. I'm really nervous about the next few months. I'm doing my senior seminar this semester, and basically I have to write a mini thesis paper over the course of the term. I usually do pretty well with research papers, but I'm still anxious about it. I'd feel better if I actually liked the seminar topics for this term. But I didn't want to wait until spring to complete the course, so I'm stuck with a topic I really don't enjoy.
Enough about school! I know it's random and really early, but I've already started listening to Christmas music!

It's my favorite holiday and time of year, and I'm ready for it to get here! So I've already got a couple of stations set up on Pandora.

And the other day, DBF and DBFF came over to my house (I'm staying with the parents while I'm temporarily homeless) and we had a Star Wars marathon!

We tried to watch all six films in order, but halfway through Episode VI, we had to stop because DBFF needed to go home and Rob and I were tired. But it was a wonderful day! Except we ate a ton!
As for my PTR, there are a couple of things to update about. First
we got our MNSSHP tickets!! But I totally forgot to take a picture of them!

I'll try to remember to do that before the trip. One of the tickets has Minnie Mouse on it (that one's mine) and two have Mickey on them. DBF and DSis already decided they wanted those, so I got Minnie. I'm so excited about having the tickets!
Soon I'm going to write an update about our costumes, or at least what we're trying to find. Laura still doesn't have any costume preferences, I think she's waiting until more Halloween stuff comes out.
I don't know whether or not we'll keep it, but I went ahead and made us an ADR for Kona Cafe at 1:45pm on Halloween before the party. I figured if we want to get there at 4pm, we should allow for about 15-20 minutes transportation time from the Poly. And we don't want to rush to eat, so I wanted to give us plenty of cushion time. I don't know about lunch (I've only ever eaten dinner at Kona), but we've had some waits to get seated in the past. So I wanted to give us some more cushion time. So 1:45 it is! I figured if we get seated between 1:45 and 2:00, that will give us about an hour and a half for the meal. We'll try to leave the Poly at 3:30, so we'll be ready to get into the MK when they start letting MNSSHP people in! I'm hoping that if we eat a late lunch before entering the park, we won't be slowed down with eating before the party. Between 4:00 and 7:00 is when we'll be focusing on attractions that we want to do before the party. I also want to make sure we get some photos before the sun goes down!
But at some point during the night, I'll need to make sure DBF gets a hot dog at Casey's!! He's crazy about them. And I do love their french fries with the cheese sauce!
I've been trying to nail down Rob and Laura to give me info on their priorities for the MK and the party. I want to make sure everyone gets to do as many of their priorities as possible! For right now, I'll just give you my list.
Attractions
- Haunted Mansion! It's Halloween!
- Splash Mountain (I know this will be on Rob's list too, it's his favorite!)
- PhilharMagic
- Either Peter Pan's Flight or Snow White's Scary Adventures if there's time. Snow White is more likely if the line isn't too long.
MNSSHP
- Possibly HalloWishes! It really depends on whether or not DBF and DSis have any interest and what other party activities we're focused on when 9:00pm rolls around. Fireworks shows are fun, but if I miss it I won't be devastated.
- Second parade. I've read on other threads that lots of people have usually left by the time the second one starts so it's easier to find a spot.
- Trick or Treat for at least awhile
- Character greets! I don't know exactly which ones will be out and where they'll be, so it'll be a lot of playing by ear to see them. This will probably be going on simultaneously with trick-or-treating.
I don't know if I posted this already, but I'm planning on making our trick-or-treat bags! Back in April I made some shirts for Laura and her friend to wear on their WDW trip with my parents for their spring break. They were celebrating Laura's birthday, so I made them some birthday shirts using iron-on transfers. They came out wonderfully and were surprisingly easy! So for trick-or-treating, I'm going to try to find some plain black tote bags (unless anyone has another color preference for theirs) and find a good design on the DISigns board to iron onto them. I've looked on jiffyshirts.com and found some tote bags that might work. I'm excited about this project!
Well I've got to run and get some lunch! Take care!
