Bell services and luggage transfer?

My husband and I are going in January for the first time since December 2019, so we've not been since all of the changes. We will be flying in on Saturday, but not sure of time, so we booked All Star Movies for our first night and then will transfer to the Contemporary for the remaining five nights. In the past when we have done this, bell services would transfer the luggage for us and we could go about our day before going to check in later. It didn't occur to me that this may not be the case anymore until I saw someone mention it on a FB page today. So, can anyone tell me if they will still transfer luggage, or will we need to get an Lyft over and move our own luggage to CR? Thanks in advance for your help! ::MickeyMo

We have had our luggage transferred from one Disney resort Bell Services Department to a second Disney resort Bell Services Department. No trouble. Know that they will not transport perishable food items, though. That may not even be an issue for you, but just so that you know. Otherwise....no problem. Hope you have a great trip.

we just did a split stay with two transfers in may/June. only issue to note is that they won't transfer perishables and you won't have access to your bags for awhile. I was surprised at how long it took for our first transfer from wilderness lodge to the grand Floridian. we didn't have our bags until 6pm.

Thanks, y’all! So glad to know they will still transfer luggage! Hopefully we won’t need anything from them before they arrive at CR. We’ve done transfers on park days before, so it wasn’t an issue, but this time it will be a non-park day.

Thanks for the heads up about perishables! I will place our grocery order to be delivered after we transfer.

Just did the luggage transfer last week and they told us the luggage would be transferred between 1pm-5pm (we dropped it off around 7am). It was delivered to our next room around 4-4:30pm, we were in the new room when it happened to be delivered. They won't transfer refrigerated items but we had a bag (a bag from a Disney shop) with bottled water that was transferred just fine.

Thank you so much for the report from your recent stay! We are so glad they still offer the service!

We did a split stay in May. They picked up luggage from our room and when we got to our new resort later that day we arranged to have it delivered to our new room. Very easy.

We are in a similar situation. We are staying at All Star Movies for one night and then transferring to the Grand Floridian. Do I setup the transfer when we checkin at All Stars?

We have done split stays for many years and have found it easier to just take a taxi to the next resort. In the past we did use Disney to transfer our luggage but it took to long to get our luggage . Especially if our family likes to take a swim mid-day and your luggage has not arrived yet..

Hi! When we have done this in the past, we informed them of the transfer upon checkout.

To transfer the Bags you can bring them to Bell services or you can call Bell services to pick them up. You must be present when they are picked up. Bell services are supposed to let you know when your bags are at the nest resort by calling your room or you can call them to check and they will bring them up or you can pick them up yourself. My experience is you must be in the room for them to deliver the bags they will not just leave them in your room.
