Belkin Surge Protector?

We have a WDW and (first time) DCL trip coming up. Normally when we travel to WDW we bring this with us:

I know that surge protectors are one of the restricted items on DCL. Some people have told me this only applies to corded surge protectors. Is there anyone that could confirm or deny this? If it will cause a problem on the cruise we'll leave it home.

We employ a surge protector when on land vacations but not when cruising. A surge on a cruise ship is EXTREMELY unlikely to occur.

If they take it you can collect it at the end of your cruise. Most WDW resort rooms all now have some sort of UWB charging capability as well too. If that helps with why you need a surge protector.

We have taken it and there have been no problems. Yes, it has a cord, but I guess it's not a surge protector.

Thanks again for the tips! I wasn't particularly concerned about needing a surge protector, we just liked the added convenience of the additional charging ports. I don't think it's worth it for us to buy another one; we'll just play it safe and leave ours home.

never had an issue. Either the kids dvd players or their tablets were plugged into it the whole cruise.

But, as noted, surge protected power strips are not allowed.

Yes, you got away with it. But some people play by the rules.

We use a similar Anker model but without the cord. Works like champ with 2 tablets and 2 phones charging at the same time.
