Belated Honeymoon

Hi! I am trying very hard not to look to look through all of these wedding threads because I will be too jealous! I'm so happy for all of you planning your Disney weddings though. Truly a dream come true! I had a beautiful and magical wedding, but nothing is quite like a fairytale Disney one.

I'm actually wondering about Disney honeymoons though. My husband and I are looking at finally taking a Disney honeymoon about 1 1/2 years after our wedding. Will we still be able to get the same honeymoon perks like the special button? What are the perks anyways? I've just heard that there are some! We won't be staying in a traditional resort; we'll be camping at Ft Wilderness so there won't be any possibilities of free room upgrades like honeymooners often get.

It's not going to alter our trip in any way, but I was just wondering!

The best piece of advice I can give is to tell EVERYONE it is your honeymoon as you are booking your resort and restaurant reservations. Then "gently" remind them it's your honeymoon when you check in! You never know what kind of pixie dust those Cast Members can find!

Definitely go to Guest Services in any (or all!) of the parks and get either a "just married" button or an "anniversary" button (I don't think they have ones that specifically say "honeymoon"). They're free! And if you feel like it, get the bride and groom ears and wear them around the parks, restaurants...everywhere! Again, you never know when a Cast Member will throw some pixie dust your way!

Other than that, don't "expect" anything...some people get free desserts, free drinks, "special" seats on rides (i.e a boat for just the two of you on Pirates)...but it's all dependent on the Cast Members.
