Can someone give me their thoughts and opinions on Beirgarten? We loved character/themed dining - but our kids are 4 and 8. Do you feel like you are at a Brew Ha Ha the whole time or is it more of a family friendly atmosphere? We have eaten at Ohana's, Coral Reef, Sci-Fi and loved them and are planning to try WCC and San Angel Inn on this trip and was wondering about trying Beirgarten? Can you tell me about the atmosphere as well as the food? Thanks!

This is one of our favorite restaurants at Disney. A buffet--with something for everyone (you can see the menu on the DIS). There is a live band that plays and kids of all ages get a kick out of the music and love dancing along (there is a dance floor). You should be aware though that your family will more than likely be seated with another family. They are long tables that hold 8 people (I think it is 8) and they will seat you with another family. We've done this numerous times and have wonderful visits with family's from other parts of the States or other countries.

There is a possibility you will be sitting with another family who might be drinking beer. I have been there 3 times and no one has ever been disorderly or really drunk.

i have seen kids get up and dance with the band. My ds13 loves the place and him and dh are going back but not us girls. Too much meat for us. We like more veggies and casseroles.

It is fun and great atmosphere.

you will almost definitely be seated with others -- all seating is at tables for 8 and they will fill in all the seats. People will drink beer there (that's what a Beer Garden is:thumbsup2 )

I would compare the atmosphere to a family wedding or family picnic instead of a bar...yes, people are drinking, but not the main focus of the event. Kids (and sometimes adults, too) do get up & dance, the band is fun.

Very family friendly. My son loved it (he was 7 at the time). He loved the food and he loved the show. There was a lot of beer drinking going on (especially at our table ;) ) but like the PP said, I saw no one disorderly or out of control. It's a lot of fun!

We were concerned about the same things you have mentioned with our family of 5. But after we went there on our last trip, we liked it so much we actually ended up going back a 2nd time. It is a wonderful atmosphere, not at all a "big drunk fest." They do serve beer, but then most of the restaurants in the WS serve alcohol. WDW is ultimately a family place, and this restaurant is no exception. The buffet has great food ...something for everyone... and you must try the pretzel bread!

Have fun :thumbsup2

I have to agree! We've been to Biergarten once and we can't wait to go back during our June trip. My kids were 7 and 4 at the time, and they loved getting on the dance floor dancing and running around. We did not have to sit with others, but were seated at a table for 4. My hubby was chosen to act out the part of the King, which gave our kids lots of laughs! Highly recommend!

My dh loved it, I liked it, my ds 10 hated it and my 6 yo loves buffets so he was good. At first I was a little uncomfortable with the idea of sitting with strangers but our tablemates were the nicest family. We really enjoyed our meal with them. they were regular Disney visitors and full of great tips. My ds 10 liked the food but was really uneasy sitting with people we didn't know ( he is very shy around people he doesn't know).

Your kids will love it. They can get up and dance when the band plays.

Food is very good too.

Biergarten is great!! :thumbsup2 The food is good and so is the entertainment. The band plays music and does some comedy mixed in. And several kids will be invited to come down and dance.:woohoo:

Several years ago we tried Biergarten and were disappointed. Then in Nov., we tried it again and it was great!!! The two of us sat with a family of 4 who were so pleasant. I think it helps if you are seated with a friendly family. By the way, the food was also good!!!
