I'd like to try Beirgarten (I think) but DH is worried we may not like German food. It just looks so FUN to me! Anyone have pix of some of the stuff you ate there? Is it better to go at lunch or dinner? Did you like it and would you recommend it or is it just "ok"?
ALSO....good selection of foods for toddlers?

THANKS!!! :cutie:

Over spring break I took my girl scout troop, ages 15-16 there along with 4 adults and my son, age 17. So there was 14 of us total...there was something for every one, even picky eaters. We had lunch and no entertainment was going on at that time. Place was kinda dark however, the desserts was great.

Think wonderful, plump sausages, roast pork and beef rouladen, knudelen and spatzle, and warm and cold German salads...topped off with a big slice of black forest cake! Wash it down with a hearty dose of good, dark bier...er, I mean beer...and what else could you ask for?

I'll tell you...a band in lederhosen playing Oktoberfest music, alpenhorns, and cowbells... wild, crazy tourists dancing the polka (or a reasonable facsimile of it)... and swinging your bier -- beer! -- mug in time to the Ein Prosit! along with the other folks at your table, who you may -- or may not -- know.

It's just like Oktoberfest, except the food's a bit more expensive and you don't have to go to Munich.

Try a German restaurant in your town before you go. If you like it, fine. If not, there's always France... :lmao:

because not everyone likes german type foods .......WE STILL loved this place. I had the potato leek soup, and rolls, salmon, chicken, some sausages, salads, pork and mac and cheese.......dessert is always delicious....hubby usually has his cheesecake and vanilla sauce first before his meal.......but I love the apple streudel and the vanilla sauce.....usually they have fresh fruit too.......everyone should like it

Here's some pictures I took. I think the food is good and the show is fun. The beer is great. :thumbsup2 I look at the Beirgarten as a great fallback spot to eat. It's not my favorite place in the World Showcase but I can almost always get an ADR there or even walk in.

Beirgarten is fantastic! I have a ton of close up buffet shots and a full review from our March/April trip in my signature

My DH and I were there a few weeks ago and we didn't like it at all. The food was less than good, and that's putting it nicely. The entertainment was OK. IMO, if there's some place else that you're looking at instead of going here, pick the other place.

We have never had a bad experience at the Biergarten and love it. I do not eat sausages or spicy foods and there is plenty for me to enjoy. Not all German food is sausage and saurkraut. :) Love the atmosphere, too. I'm a sucker for any "indoor that looks outdoor" type setting.

We LOVE Biergarten and go almost every trip. We were going to skip it this year because we have friendsn going with us for first time and were going to go to Rose & Crown. They would like to try Biergarten so I am trying to change our adr.

Thanks for posting the pics! We are going here for the first time in a few weeks and DH was wondering about the food (we made the ADR for my dad whose German) It looks delicious!! :thumbsup2

Thanks, I got one of the beer flights which is 4 smaller(about 6-8 ounces) of beer. It lets me try out various beers. By the time I was eating dessert I was down to 1 glass and 3 empties.

As for the dessert. My opinion is if it all fits on one plate then it counts as having just one dessert. :rotfl2:

The food is fantastic, great service, wonderful atmosphere. We usually go for lunch, no particular reason, just ends up that way.

Food is general comfort food, meats, salads, potatoes, etc.
Good beer, and the show is great.

We love the Biergarten! Been there twice and both times the food was awesome and the band is very enjoyable although a little loud. I would definately recommend this place!

By far Its one of our favorit places to eat!!:yay: :yay: .If you just like family styl foods, yes it Is german but Its nothing to exotic but It Is tastey!!. You will have a great time Dinner or lunch, but lunch is a bit cheaper thats a plus:banana:

We've been twice with a two year old and a dw that is picky. She manages, but my daughter and I have no problem. There are plenty of meats (sausages) to pick from. There are potatoes and mac n cheese. There are different salads to choose from and then the desserts... You have to hit the dessert bar.

It's a good experience with good food. It's not great, but it's good. We enjoy the food and entertainment. I enjoy the beer! :)

We are trying this for the first time next trip. I can't wait! The food looks really good and I'm a sucker for a great beer flight. Thanks for all the positive reviews! Makes me glad I got a ressie!

The Biergarten is probably our favorite place to eat at Disney. As long as your kids aren't picky eaters, they will enjoy it too. I started going there when I was 5 years old, and we've eaten there every time we've gone. The Oompa Band is a big hit and they have audience participation, although I'm not sure if your kids will be too shy. The food there is distinctly German, although there is stuff like mac n' cheese for the little kids. It is a great buffet that I know you will enjoy if you try it.:thumbsup2
