Ok...I am sure I butchured the spelling on both of these places:) My husband and I, our 4 year old daughter & 18 month old son are going to WDW with my MIL & FIL. I wanted to know which resteraunt you would recommend. My MIL is Norweigan and my FIL is German so I would like to go to one of them but not sure which one. I know the plus of Akershus is the princesses but we have reservations at CRT (for my daughter's birthday) so that isn't a must. I am most concerned about atmosphere, food, service, etc. Thank you!!!!

on your description of events, I'd choose Biergarten. I think the food is better but I'm inclined more toward German food than Norwegian.

The Biergarten has a great atmosphere, and the food is nice and hearty. Good stuff. Only been to Akershus once years ago and remember it having more cold items, more fish, etc. But it was still nice. Just different - that's the joy of the World Showcase! :)

I have been to both and based on what you have said I would highly reccomend Biergarten. If the princesses are a non-issue than there is no particular reason to go to Akershus. The food is okay but the characters are the main draw. The food at Biergarten is very good and there is a wide variety so there will be something for everyone.

Enjoy! It one of my favorites!

oh gosh - those are two of our favorite places! We loved Biergarten and always love breakfast at Akershus with the princesses. If you are already seeing princesses at CRT - then maybe you should choose Biergarten. Do you think they would like the band at Biergarten? We thought it was a lot of fun.

My girls would pick Akersus, but only because of the princesses even though we eat at crt as well. If the princesses are not an option for you, I would vote GERMANY. It will give you an new and dif experience and your daughter will have fun dancing and doing the polka!

My mother is German and my Grandmother (Dad's side) was Norwegian. I don't think you will go wrong with either. My Mom loves both. My lunch at Akershus a few months ago tasted exactly like being in my Grandmother's kitchen which really surprised me. It's a tough choice. Since you are already seeing the Princesses elsewhere, maybe Biergarten.
