I am a new found vegetarian (I do still eat fish but no meat or poultry, I know I am not a true vegetarian but I am working on it!! LOL!!) I was just wondering if there were enough options at Beirgarten so I would have enough to eat while I was there. We are going for the CP dinner package and when we booked it this was not my way of life. If anyone could offer assistance that would be great!!

I'm sure there will be vegetarian choices. So if there is a group going, you'll definately find something to eat and be able to make a meal for yourself. There are salad choices and lots of side dishes and I think I recall salmon at dinner (but I don't remember thinking the salmon was all that good). The salads are good - cucumber salad in particular. And there's always desert. So its not like you'll leave hungry.

But quite honestly, there are many better options for vegetarians. I have lots of experience at Disney dining with vegetarians - my mom doesn't eat any meat or poultry and my sister doesn't eat red meat. The main entrees are mostly meat and poultry based and you could probably do better elsewhere. But the atmosphere is fun so it depends on what you are looking for.

My sister is a vegan and loves the Biergarten. She calls the restaurant a week ahead of time and speaks to one of the chefs, tells them the day and time of her ADR and they make a special dish for her that day. The chef also takes her around the buffet and shows her what she can eat.

Well, I believe that the Biergarten adheres to the old German Reinheitsgebot, which of course means that its beers are made with water, barley, hops, and yeast. So I think you're good to go there, veggie-wise! :lmao:

I ate there as a vegetarian and enjoyed it. There are more cold vegetarian dishes than hot, but there is salmon on the hot side along with spatzle, potatoes, carrots, etc. There's herring salad on the cold part that I wouldn't have eaten, of course. You'll be just fine. Just watch out for the bacon in the potato salad. :)

Good luck with your new diet! I was a pescetarian for quite a while before I went officially veggie; it's a good way to bridge the gap between omnivore and vegetarian. I don't recommend going "cold turkey" and giving up all meat immediately.

I don't know - you think this will be enough?

The potato salad and head cheese aren't vegetarian. Head cheese is most certainly not cheese! :rotfl:

Now that is the answer I was looking for!!! LOL!! But unfortunately I think I am gonna need some food to soak up all the beer I plan on drinking:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 Just wanna make sure I won't be stumbling around the World Showcase Lagoon and accidentally fall in:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Pescetarianism is a totally valid form of vegetarianism, you don't have to apologize! :) And yes, there will be enough food for you to eat and then feel like you need to roll out of the restaurant. :rotfl: I often go there with a veggie friend of mine at his request because there's so much delicious delicious food there for him to eat. Have a great time! :thumbsup2
