When it comes to restaurants, I don't put a single bit of stock into other people's opinions, no less restaurant critics! Everyone of us has different tastes and likes. On top of that each visit to the same restaurants has so many factors that can make or break your experience. One time may be great, the next - not so great. Here's one example of my own personal experiences....
For a special birthday dinner we ate at the Portobello Yacht Club in PI. We arrived on time for our ADRs and were seated almost immediately at a wonderful table next to a window. The candle lit table in the small side room created just the right ambience. I can still remember those delicious little pizza appetizers served on a wooden platter - deeeelectible! The rest of the meal and the entire dining experience was perfect.
Fast forward to our next trip. We couldn't wait to dine at PYC again! We arrived on time, and waited another 40 minutes to be seated. We were escorted to a table next to a kitchen door near two tables of very tired kids with very unhappy, disgruntled parents trying their best to keep them orderly (and not succeeding). Our waiter was just as impatient - he obviously was not having a pixie dust day either. The same appetizer that we loved before was not as well done (crusts were not crisp this time) and the courses were served hurriedly.
Same two diners, same restaurant. VERY different experience. So if you asked me how I like PYC....I couldn't give you a definitive answer. Should I give you a reply on two out of three? Ask me after our next trip.

As for Biergarten? What makes or breaks this restaurant for us is where we are seated. If we get to sit down in front of the band, it's terrific! If you are seated on the balconies to the side, it's very difficult to see and it's a completely different experience. If you are asking only about the food...it's good and we like it.
