hi all,

I'm wheelchair bound and can't carry my weight, other people can lift me into a supported stand.

How easy is it at discovery cove to swim with the dolphins and see the other attraction's. One more thing has anyone been in a wheelchair and gone on the sand there?.

Thank's

Swimming with the dolphins could be tricky if you dont have friends or helpers to get you into the water area. Its basically a swimout 2 feet deep that you stand in.

I did see Beach wheelchairs (pvc plus huge tires) but you cannont push yourself in them.

I highly suggest calling discovery cove guest relations, and discussing you exact needs with them.

Can you swim ok? the dolphins can sometimes hual you around, and that water can get deep. I was like 200 pounds last time and they took me from shore to mid way out in no time.. And left my butt their.

I *REALLY* want to swim want to take my daughter to swim with the dolphins. I know that they could not haul her around but I KNOW she would love petting their noses and being in the water with them. I have not checked too much into it because she isn't 6 yet. However, 6 is approaching quickly (she will be 6 our next trip) and I am getting antsy to learn more!

I would love to hear all about experiences with special needs and Discovery Cove! :)

I, too, am interested in this.

I would like to take Lauren for a HS graduation present, but she can not stand on her own...and I was not sure how much Discovery Cove would allow someone else to help her. It would probably take two adults to get her in the pool area and stay with her. But she could touch the dolphins and she would be in heaven! She loves the dolphins!
