Being in a parade?

The five year old has latched on to the idea of being in a parade someday. I know there are parades at Disney that sometimes incorporate guests. Is this always a matter of pixie dust or is there a way to show up or sign up for one? I'm not even mentioning the idea to her, but if it's a thing it would be awesome.

It's a matter of being showered in pixie dust.

When I was a majorette in high school, we took our band trip to Disney World and actually led the parade during the day time one. So there may be that option a few years down the road.

there is another solution, go on any of the Disney transportation :) We did the horse drawn tram and it almost felt like being in the parade, people were waving and taking photos of us as we went down main street to the castle.

Disney used to have several parades that featured regular guests being asked to be part of the parade.

Sadly, all of those parades have ceased operation.

Ha I laughed when I read this. Once upon a time, when I was a kid I went to Disney with the same aspiration. lol I think that I must have asked every cast member I saw if I could be in a parade. I did get to do some cool stuff---on the boats to Epcot I got to use the mic and stand at the front of the boat, got to ride in the front of the monorail a few times and waive to people as we pulled into the stations (I don't think you can even do this anymore) and led some kind of parade (conga line) at a restaurant that I don't remember where it was.

Doesn't hurt to ask and see what you get. I remember feeling like a million bucks every time I got to do something special.

Aside from being the family in the MK welcoming show, I haven't seen any parade anytime recently that featured anyone other than CM's

DS 2 is a drummer and his marching band led the New Year's Day 2014 parade. OP, it might not be the way you meant, but encourage your daughter to play an instrument and some day you might get to watch her in a MK parade after all. :rockband:
