how do you deal with it?

when a guy/girl comes up to you and is clearly flirting with you/trying to pick you up what do you do? how do you react?

also have you ever approached a guy/girl? what did you do? how did they react?

generally i'm just wondering about flirting habits, how you react to being flirted with etc.

i had a funny incident happen today that made me want to start this thread...
i was leaving campus @ school and this guys stops me
guy: excuse me you have something in you hair!
me: ...oh
guy: -proceeds to take nothing out of my hair-
me: ...thanks -walk away-
guy: ...oh wait! um...
me: yes
guy: i'm doing a survey on relationships, was wondering if you had a minute to sit down and answer some questions
me: ...sure...
guy: okay so what's your name/age
me : caitlin, 20
guy: so what are the 3 things you think are most important in a relationship
me: trust, love & compatability
guy: okay so, are you in a relationship?
me: yep
guy: ......oh....
guy: and for how long
me: 3 years
guy: ......oh............okay that's all the questions i had.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
i just told my bf about that and he laughed so hard.

Well, when it happens, I'll let you know. :p

Generally if someone of the opposite gender approaches me, it's to borrow homework or is a kid from one of my extra cirriculars letting me know about meetings. lol.

And I don't flirt. I don't talk to guys unless I need to ask them questions or take their pictures for newspaper.

OH GOD! I had an incident today. Okay, I swear I've never been approached by a male prior to this year. There's a boy in my vo-tech American Issues class (only juniors from my high school and the neighboring high school) who likes me. He sits not next to me, but in front of the person next to me.

Yesterday, the guy next to me told me this guy, V, liked me. I said "oh, that's nice". V's best friend (also in our American Issues class) goes to my school and is in my first period.

Today V's best friend comes up to me in class and tells me that V made him promise that he'd talk to me today. So I go, okay? And the best friend goes well, you know...he likes you. a lot. he wants to get to know you better and go out with you.

So this dude sent his best friend to ask me out and actually thought I'd say yes! :sad2:

I've never had a complete randomer come up to me but I've had friends of friends trying to flirt with me..

Like last week, me and my friends were in the park and we saw our other friend and a group of her friends so we went over.

After a few minutes, everyone wanted to go to the shop, about 10 minutes away, so they all left except me, my friend and this other guy we didn't know.

Well, he kept talking/flirting with me but he blanked my friend. Like she'd say something and he'd be like " (not very enthusiastically) ohh cool.. (more animated and interested) yeah, so Ellie.."

'Twas weird ahah xD

haha. that's hilarious!

It kinda makes me feel awkward if a guy would come up to me like that. I wouldn't know what to say. lol

But it would show me what kind of guy they are.. if they come up to me by himself. Most guys would find out your number or something or ask you over myspace/FB

I always seem to get some guys that I know a little but not much always wanting to get with me. This guy in 8th grade was in my math class and at a school dance he was sitting near me and asked if I wanted to meet his girlfriend, I said "sure" and he slides over next to me  I didn't know what to say so I just sat there. I was NOT attracted to this guy at all. Eventually he was like "what is your answer" and I told him I liked someone else (which was the truth). Then like two years ago he asked me out again via instant message. I told him I had a boyfriend, which was also the truth.

Then my freshman year of high school this guy would flirt with my friend and I in class. He held a piece of mistletoe over my head at Christmastime and said "we're standing under the mistletoe we have to kiss!" I don't think so!!!

I usually just smile and act all embarrassed.

I don't get hit on.
Period.
I think the most I got was some like senior when I asked him how his day was he said "Better now that I've seen you."
Which was just creepy.

I have an array of reactions when guys are flirting with me.
Flustered: I get flustered when guys I'm not interested in are flirting with me. It just feels so unnatural and awkward. I sometimes do this weird nervous laugh too.
Creeped out: When older guys try to flirt.
Giddy: When guys I am interested in flirt with me. It's really embarrassing hahah. I giggle like crazy -_-

I'm kinda weird about flirting sometimes. I usually like to initiate the flirting because I feel it isn't awkward.

Edit: OP, at least the guy who was flirting with you was at least really original lmao.

It's only happened once.

I was 9 years old and at summer camp, so there was this dance and I was sitting in the back (trying to hide) and these 2 teenage guys, about 15-16 asked me to dance at the same time and said I had pretty eyes. I said I didn't want to dance so no, thanks.

I don't think I've ever been actually flirted on by some random stranger, but I've been flirting with a guy in my english class for a while. I don't really care or know what it's going to turn into, but it's just fun.

I have had a random old dude hit on me when I worked, and then some creeper facebook dude. Those aren't fun though.

this is exactly what I have to deal with on monday.

I got asked to homecoming by a really overweight black guy. I was like "uhh, no, thanks" and walked away...xD

omg I have an irrational fair that someone is going to ask me to prom and I will feel bad and say yes.

I've never been hit on, except in the bullying-pretend-to-like-the-ugly-weird-girl way.

I admit that I'm a flirter, but I don't go up to random girls and do it. XD

I'm always afraid that's going to happen to me. Even if someone asked me to the dance or something like that I'd probably say no, just because I'm afraid that's the situation. Even though I don't think I'm ugly, I don't know what anyone else thinks. lol.

But, I have to agree with the above poster, you're so pretty! I don't really understand why anyone would do that.

Haha, If I was your bf, I would've laughed too (: Hah halaious.
Well since you have a boyfriend, you obviously don't need to flirt with a guy.
But you just need to be "somewhat" flirtatious, if you know what i mean.
But if you do that, lol, you might give him the wrong impression; kinda like,"ohh well she's flirting with me, so she must be single." But just express yourself more when you talk to a guy (: But, don't be afriad to show your confidence. So just go for it. That's what I do. That's all I can think of right now, lmao (:

i think its flattering when people flirt with me, even if i'm not interested.

It makes me uncomfortable, I think it is because of my previous problem at Taco Bell. What started out as innocent immediately became the opposite. :(
I wish it didn't but as of late, I seem to be shying away from the attention.
