Honestly, I know they have a fan following, but I didn't think they were good. The only other place I had them was Lola is Seattle, and those were to die for. The ones as POFQ were hollow, hard, and not very tasty. I'm not a beignets expert though.

Where are they at the Patisserie? I have never seen them there before.
Never mind. I remember them now. Those don't count as beignets to me though...they are just like doughnuts filled with nutella. Traditional beignets are hollow.
Thanks for all the replies! We had the Mickey Head beignets in Disneyland a few years ago and they were amazing! I figured they would be the same in Florida, but it seems like that's not the case....
Last trip we stayed in NOLA before heading on down to WDW to stay at POFQ, able to eat cafe du monde one day & POFQ food court the next day for nearly a side by side comparison. Cafe du monde won hands down. WDW served us a hollow piece of fried dough covered in powdered sugar. There was nothing to it. I'm not saying not to try them at WDW but to anyone used to the real thing, don't bother. To anyone who's never tried them, you'll be none the wiser, just don't judge too harshly as you're not eating the real deal.
OH, no! Now, I want some from there, nowwww!! That's only 35mi. from my home area and where I get my 'fix' once a year!
We have gotten them at POFQ, and they can be 'passible' when we're desperate! If you haven't had the 'real deals' expect they would taste ok for most people.
Nope. Just the ones we had at POFQ, but they were not traditional either. There are lots and lots of videos on YouTube of Cafe Du Monde. Many, many will show people eating the beignets but I had to search for one that actually showed the beignet and once a bite was out of it. This video link around 1 minute will show you the inside of a beignet, they are not hollow, unless your eating them at WDW, as I reported above.
As a native New Orleanian, I think it depends on what you're looking for in a beignet. If you're looking for what Disney calls a beignet in WDW, it's in the Port Orleans French Quarter, as others have said. I agree that these are "passable" if you'll never get to enjoy the real deal. They'll do in a pinch- but it's not "just like" home. I really enjoy the music there. We had fun enjoying a plate of beignets on the cafe banquette.
The beignets at Disneyland (Mickey head) are donuts and are not beignets. They are tasty, but it's the wrong dough, which gives it the wrong texture and consistency. (Like real wrong- remember the time Disney tried to make a gumbo without the roux? It's that wrong.) Instead, they could be called "Disneyland Donuts- taste the magic!"
