beignets

Other than POR, is there any restaurant that sells beignets anywhere in the World?

I don't think so. They are my favorite and I have not seen them anyplace other than the FQ foodcourt.

There is a possibility that you may be able to find them at the French Bakery in Epcot. I haven't looked.

Also, PO-R food court doesn't serve them... the French Quarter food court (Sassagoula Fireworks Factory) does, and they are FANTASTIC! Can't wait for March to go by and get some!!!

mmmmmm Beignets. I could live on those things! Give me a plate of beignets and a tall glass of cold milk and I'm good to go!

We have only had them at PO-FQ and I'll be back there to have some in 16 days!!! They may be serving them at Riverside also since the resorts combined. When we stayed at Riverside a few years ago they only had them at French Quarter... lets just say it was worth the walk!!!

You haven't lived until you've eaten beignets from the Cafe DuMond in New Orleans. After a few of those, you will never again eat one of those rubbery bricks they call beignets from Port Orleans. We tried them at PO once because we like the ones from NOLA and were very disappointed in them.

We were at POR in September and they do serve them there, unless they've changed. I might just have to take a trip over there for them when we go in December. I was just hoping to find a more convenient place.

We must have been eating different beignets than you, because were fresh fried, soft and light... not a brick in sight. The food court at PO-FQ has been upgraded, and the food is much better now... perhaps you should give it another try!

I agree! We were there in October and I ordered 3 beignets. There were some in the display counter and I expected them to give them to me, but NO! They cooked them fresh for me...while ringing a big bell and calling loudly, "Fresh beignets! Fresh beignets!" They were so delicicious - hot and melted in your mouth! I had them every day we were there and it was the same every time. I wish there were some other place to get them!

Off the subject, but the pralines were wonderful too! I had one every day also, and bought 3 to take with me when we checked out!

Hm, I wonder if there is a pattern for getting "the good stuff"? Or maybe someone realized that the quality had slipped and has since fixed it. I tried them back when it was still called Port Orleans (now the French Quarter), and they really weren’t anything to write home about.
