Myself (DD) and my DS (11) are going to be in our magic place in June. He really loves science and we both love the land ride.

Anybody have an experience with this tour?

I am sure we can fit it into our day so just like to get a pulse of the DIS before I decide.

My husband did the Behind the Seeds tour in 2012 AND AGAIN the next year 2013. He LOVES the tour and plans to go every year we go to WDW. He is in Agriculture as a profession so it's right up his alley. He says you get to try the mickey cucumbers and get to ask a ton of questions!

My daughter (I think she was 14 then) and I thought the tour was worth the cost. Our only quibble with it was that parents with small kid (age 2ish) that signed up and their child was not interested at all, kept going where he wasn't allowed, talking, etc. It was very distracting to us and the tour guide. There should be an age limit.

We really enjoyed it, too. We had a similar experience…two young kids who had no interest in the whole thing and we're quite bored, so they were running around and generally acting out. Mom and Dad didn't seem to care, so it fell to the tour guide to try and entertain them. But other than that, it's really interesting and they really engage with you. If your son is into science, I think he'll love it! :thumbsup2

DD14 and I did this tour in 2012 and really enjoyed it. It's definitely worth the cost, IMO. It was educational and interesting, and was neat to be somewhat backstage (I was thrilled to see the backside of Soarin'). We got to participate in a ladybug release, feed the fish and were offered a sample of fresh cucumbers, and we were able to take tons of pictures.

We are really looking forward to it - I have it scheduled for all 4 of us this June. There's a coupon at the back of the 2014 Birnbaum book for a slight discount. (Can't remember what it is but for the 4 of us - all over 10 years - it essentially paid for the $12 book). A small discount, but still nice to know about!

Son loved it when he was 5, did it again he was 6, and wants to do this summer when he's 7. The live alligators are his favorite. If you get lucky enough to feed the fish, and his sister gets splashed with water, that's just icing on the cake.

I did this in May 2011 and really enjoyed. Im sure its changed some since then, but it was totally worth every penny.

My mother and I did it two years ago. It was awesome, fairly small tour of about 6 people. Kids got to release ladybugs. We all got to try some of the bananas and strawberries that they grow there. We also got to feed the fish.

We did it last year with my DS (9). He is into science as well. There are aspects to it that he loved. Getting to release ladybugs, look into the bug tanks, see the alligators & fish, seeing the Mickey shaped veggies, & seeing the other people go through The Land ride while we were part of the scenery. There were also parts as we walked around & the guide was talking more about plants & in-depth hydroponics that he was just bored. He was fine, he just sat down & waited, but be aware it may be a little boring for some kids, I'd say especially pre-teens & under. That said we'd probably go again, it was interesting, but he'll also know what to expect.

I think it was interesting but very hot in the greenhouse. My DH couldn't wait for it to be over.

We did this tour this past October and really enjoyed it. It was very educational and our CM, Erin, was wonderful. There were four kids on our tour my two 15 year old girls, a girl around 9, and a boy around 12. The kids were all interested and asked great questions.

We love it. We've done it twice. There is quite of bit of walking and standing so I did not recommend for my elderly parents.

Maybe we will do it this summer again.
