Hi all

We were wondering if anyone has done this recently? I have just got a very overgrown allotment so would really like to do this tour, but I will have a 6yo and poss a MIL with a walking stick in tow, how do you think they will cope?

Thanks as always
Suzanne

it is a walking tour, but you don't walk very far - have you been on the "living with the land" boat ride tour in the Land?
the green houses the boat goes through is where you go on the walking tour...
so you don't walk very far - it should be ok for your MIL if she's able to walk a few blocks, but it might be boring for your 6 year old...i suppose it depends on the 6 year old....
you walk through the greenhouse and the guide (usually a university science student who's working at the land as an intern for a few months) tells you all about the different growing methods they use there (what they tell you on the boat but more in depth)..

at the beginning they gave my kids vials of lad bugs to hold on to, then at the end they were told to release them in one of the growing areas....it was to show how natural pesticides are used (lady bugs eat other bugs)....

and she gives you slices of cucumber to eat at one point...cucumbers grown there using one of their methods (perhaps the hanging ones i don't remember)..

i found it very interesting as did my kids - but they were teens at the time..
i don't know what a 6 year old would think about it...
it's a gardening/science lesson in a greenhouse....would your 6 year old enjoy that?
by the way, is there a minimum age requirement?

When we did the tour, we were given a cherry tomato and it was the best tomato I have EVER eaten in my life.

When we go in a few weeks we will probably do it again.

GREAT question - this has long been one of our favourite attractions and we have been debating whether to do this tour as both kids are keen gardeners (thanks to Grandad and not parents!!)

by the way, is there a minimum age requirement?

i've just been checking, and the Disney website states 'Behind the Seeds at Epcot is appropriate for Guests of all ages'. The pricing box states from 3 years and up! :cool1:

our DS is very into gardening and growing at the moment so hopefully this will be something he will be interested in.

it's not a long tour, so assuming she has any attention span at all, it should be fine...
and it is very neat to see the area where you went through on a boat...
and she can wave at people on the boats as they go by :)
