Begun this TRIP report has. New and Done Pg. 59

:welcome: Thanks for joining us!! We have a good time writing it together, although we are way behind of updates!!

Love the choosing a Disney resort phobia thing!

Thanks. I found that on someone else's post and I've seen a couple of other posters that have it. It is totally true for me. We are a family of 5 and I'm still debating if I want to do POR again or try something new. I'm leaning heavily towards POR, just can't seem to validate spending $3000+ on a room at one of the Deluxe resorts. I want to, but as my DH says, my cheeks are so tight they squeak when I walk. So, alas the delema goes on. I'm going to catch up on your TR now.

Great update! And very funny!

I was often the FP runner on this trip and a lot of times it was to have a few moments by myself! :thumbsup2

Do you ride the spinning version of MS or the non-spinning?

Beautiful photos of Illuminations and World Showcase at night! I would love to be back there right now!

Thanks for sharing your terrific Epcot day! Your new ring is beautiful - what a great memory keeper. I'm glad Off Kilter (:cloud9: ) was there for you this time.

Amazing Illuminations photos. Beautiful! And I love your ring. Sound like a wonderful evening!

I'm glad you bought the ring. I do that too when it comes to buying souveniers for myself. My DH says if you want it, buy it. I hardly ever do and then I kick myself when I get home and say "I should've bought it" and then I get the I told you so speech. So, good for you!:thumbsup2 Great Illuminations pictures. I definately need to get a tripod for my next visit.

Great Update! Cool ring! And Chuck I really like your shirt! It looks like one my DH would wear!

Another great update! I also want to know what version of Mission Space y'all do. DH gets motion sickness so I am thinking of trying the green side with him in Oct but I just don't want him to get sick. I have done the Orange before and I know he will end up with a massive headache on that side.

Chuck those are some great night shots around the WS. I really like the ring you go Lynn! Can't wait to see what else is coming up.

Great update!! we finally timed it right this last trip in early August to see your favorite band!! Like your night, we had a fabolous time enjoying them and Illuminations!

So glad you got to see my boys!! There's nothing better than Off Kilter and Illuminations! Except maybe watching Illuminations with Off Kilter~ Hmmmmm~wonder if that could be one of the Million Dreams?

Squeaky cheeks!:rotfl:

We love the POR! That trundle bed is the best. None of us do well sleeping with other people (even Chuck and I have a king sized bed.) ALTHOUGH, there was a nice daybed in our room at Poly...... I wouldn't mind having a week there!!

Let us know what you decide!

Non-spinning all the way! Em is the only one who can tolerate the spinning version. And the line was shorter for nonspinning that night too!

I wish I was at Illuminations every night! I never get tired of it!

My ring makes me smile whenever I see it!! They had lots of pretty things. I love jewelry. It was great to see Off Kilter again!!

Looking forward to hearing about your EPCOT day soon!!

Great update! I love the ring and the pictures of Illuminations are super!

Thanks! that's Chuck and his trusty tripod!

Wonderful pictures of Illuminations!! So beautiful!! :goodvibes

I wish I could go every night! Wouldn't we all be better people if each day ended with Illuminations!

Thanks!! It was a nice night.

I do the same thing! I was half hoping Chuck would buy the ring and give it to me some romantic way (I still dream of being proposed to at WDW), but I'm glad I got it for myself!! I still kick myself for not getting that Indiana Jones Mickey!

Great Update! Cool ring! And Chuck I really like your shirt! It looks like one my DH would wear!

Chuck loves those Hawaiian mickey shirts! I think he has enough to wear a different one every day on our December trip!

Another great update! I also want to know what version of Mission Space y'all do. DH gets motion sickness so I am thinking of trying the green side with him in Oct but I just don't want him to get sick. I have done the Orange before and I know he will end up with a massive headache on that side.

Definitely do the green side!! Don't tempt the motion sickness! I get it very easily and it is yucky! The only thing I warn about the green side is that it is a very confined space. It could freak someone out!!

Great Update! Cool ring! And Chuck I really like your shirt! It looks like one my DH would wear!

Thank You, Thank You. It was one of my Disney bargain 'finds' at the Character Premire Outlet Store for half of what it cost in the parks. I love my Disney Hawaiian shirts!

Day Four Part one

DSCF0756.jpg

It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for! The original reason for our trip…It was going to be just 3 nights, then it transformed to 4 and then 5 and then somehow it wound up being 7 nights (how did that happen!) It’s Star Wars Weekend!!! But don’t take our word for it!

Please click here!!Storm troopers

How can you not love these guys!!

Once inside we were held back in front of the big hat. The magical mysterious white rope with the power of holding back hords of tourists wanting to run to all the really cool attractions!!

DSC03266.jpg

Em gets creative with her shots.

DSC03267.jpg

Now our plan was to go straight to Toy Story Midway Mania and try it out. Unfortunately that was everyone’s plan. Once that rope came down, people were running!! We walked quickly but still got separated in the crowd. I held on to Em for dear life, hoping Jake and Chuck were together. At the top of the stairs near One Man’s Dream, I scanned the crowd. They were closer to TSMM and still together! It was madness!!
Then, when we got to the ride, it was down!! There were CMs telling us that they were having trouble making Andy leave so we could go in. They couldn’t tell us how long it would be. We got in line while Chuck got fastpasses just in case. I’m glad we went ahead and picked them up!!

DSCF0768-1.jpg

It is a really bad bottleneck there and it was hard to go anywhere.

DSCF0769.jpg

We waited in line for a bit, but people were getting upset and new people kept coming and getting upset so we decided to move on and hope for the best later. between the heat, the bottle neck and the down attraction…it was starting to get ugly out there!

Right around the corner was Wicket’s Warehouse, home of all things Star Wars. It is nice to go in the morning when it is quiet. Well, quieter.

DSCF0794-1.jpg

You wouldn’t believe some of the stuff they had. A R2D2 DVD Projector and a remote control R2D2. Too cool! And freak’n expensive!!

Here are some of our favorites!

They also have backdrops where you can take your own pictures. Here is Em on the bridge of her Death Star.

Em and Chuck took some time to do lightsaber training. (lightsabers added by Jake.)

Did you know there are Star Wars novels? (Of course you did.) Who Don’t! Each volume of the Legacy of the Force series has been eagerly awaited (and then fought over!) at our house. Troy Denning, the author of the last novel in the series was there signing books. We had no idea. We were all disappointed that our books were at home, but decided to at least go over and tell him how much we enjoyed the books. He was amazingly kind, and gave Jake signed book plates to put in his books! It was awesome to meet him.

DSCF8928.jpg

It was a celebrity sighting for us!! Although we did see Annette Ownes’ car parked in the PC parking lot…Wo, hooo! We are easily impressed!

One of our must dos for the days was the multimedia preview of the new Star Wars: The Clones Wars movie. It was premiering at DHS MGM for all you Old School rollers out there!! I wasn’t sure where the theater was (it was over where you can meet the Toy Story people) so we wandered until we found it.

On the way, Em found the umbrella. It was working!

DSCF8873.jpg

We also saw some characters along the way.

DSCF0777-1.jpg

Darth Vader was out too.

DSCF0772-1.jpg

We found the theater and settle in to enjoy our sneak peek! And the A/C!!

Another great update - you make this non-star wars fan :upsidedow want to go to Star Wars Weekend! (I shouldn't say I'm not a fan - just haven't really watched much of it).

Love the shadow picture that Em took - though it looks like five of you are in that picture - did you pick up a hitchiker?

Did you buy any of those great t-shirts? We really liked them, but passed on buying any since it was our first day there -- I wish we had now.

Another great update!!! The mad rush to Toy Story Mania sounds crazy! Glad you were able to get FP at least. I guess I need to start preparing now for the chaos I will encounter. It was really nice that Troy Denning gave you the autographs to put in your books once you go home. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of your day went.

I have to tell you that I love reading your report. And I keep calling my husband over to read it (major SW geek!), too. When I tell him it's "That Star Wars family," he listens/comes to look instead of just rolling his eyes! :rotfl: He really appreciated the pics of the merchandise. I'd have bought one of the "taste of the dark side" shirts - too funny! My only purchase during SWW last year were two of the pins. (Yes, I was a SW geek when I was younger, but nothing tops DH!!) Looking forward to the next update!

Great update! Enjoyed the pictures! I love the t-shirts! What did you think of Clone Wars?

Great update! The t-shirts are great. My favorite would be the Storm Trooper eating the melting chocolate! Great!!! Can't wait to hear the rest of the story
