Is there an additional charge for the Oceaneers club? Is there a limited # of spots available?

Do you stay with your child or can you leave them to play with the others while you do an adult activity?

I've not been able to open the deck plan on my PC, what decks have a non obstructed balcony that are between stateroom only decks?

Eastern or Western preferences?

Just beginning to research for a October 2017 cruise - thank you!

No charge for the Club/Lab/Edge/Vibe - just the nursery for the under 3 crowd.
During Open House times you must stay with your child. During secure programming you drop them off - no parents allowed.
On the Fantasy most staterooms can be connected via the balcony - you just need to have your stateroom host give you access.
We like the Eastern better because of 3 sea days.

No additional charge for the Oceaneers Club/Lab. DCL limits the number of kids allowed to be booked on a cruise so that there aren't too many kids for the capacity of the clubs.
During Open House times, you can stay and play with your kids. During secure programming, parents aren't allowed in except to retrieve their kids so you are free to go to adult activities.
Decks will have a variety of stateroom categories. Some decks will have both unobstructed view balcony staterooms and obstructed view balcony staterooms. Pay attention to the category you book. On the Fantasy, stateroom only decks are decks 6-10.

I haven't done the Western yet, but loved the Eastern. I like sea days and the Eastern generally has 3 sea days versus 2 sea days with the Western, but I believe there are some Western itineraries that have 3 sea days.

If we had 3 staterooms in a row, could all 3 balconies be connected?

I love the concept of not over booking to allow the opportunity for all the kids 3-12 to enjoy the club! Big thumbs up to Dis for that!! =)

When able to book it appears deck 7 or 8 will be the place to be....have you found any noise issues? My family is such light sleepers, we find that to be an issue no matter where we go.

Thank you for the reply. If I can avoid Key West, as we've been there before, then Eastern would be great with 3 sea days!

Yes in most cases. I have heard that there are some balconies up on deck 12 I believe that cannot be connected. But for the most part you should be fine.
That would be deck 10, actually. Deck 12 is above the pool. There are some verandahs on deck 10 have non-connecting dividers due to the superstructure of the ship.

Our deck 10 verandah - the opening divider on one side:

And the other side - non opening:

I was in a stateroom on deck 7 midship on the Dream and loved the location. It was nice to be somewhat equidistant between the pool deck and the decks with the theaters and restaurants. The only real issue I had with noise was from kids running in the hallways, but that didn't happen all that often.

Key West is usually a stop on the Western itineraries. And if there's a port you don't like, then stay onboard and enjoy the less crowded ship.

If you are light sleepers I suggest buying one of these to put in your cabin while you sleep.

I use these at home and on the cruise to block out little noises.
