Before the Shenanigans: A Christmas 2012 PTR (TR Link Posted 1/12/13!)

Oh my goodness, I can't even fathom going to Disney in uncomfortable shoes. I can barely walk 10 feet in uncomfortable shoes. Eek!

I love my heels, but at Disney my motto for shoes is "Cute doesn't count" and I wear my pink Mickey Crocs with pride!

I would be 'devastated' to miss the 100 Acre gang photo op as well! I mean, they're all together, and they're wearing COSTUMES! It's basically the most adorable thing ever!

I love them, too, and totally plan to get a photo with them. I just love the fact that the "too cool for character photos" girls are making this meet Priority Uno for the night!

Yesterday, Erica and I went on one of our photoexcursions and ended up at Port Canaveral Lock. The sky was amazing, and we took tons of shots. Erica had my old point and shoot Kodak, and I had my iPhone (the DSLR is being repaired). The sunset was too pretty not to share!

When we got home and plugged the camera in to upload, I was surprised to find quite a few Epcot Flower & Garden pictures that I’d forgotten about. I’ll include them in the next post.

I don’t remember the date these were taken…sometime in March, I think. The day was NOT magical; but as we all know, a bad day at Disney is better than a good day someplace else! And I did get some pretty pictures, so it wasn’t a total loss!

So, this is sort of a Disney update but is really more like an I’m bored so I think I’ll use my PTR like a blog update.

That’s fair, right?

Yesterday, we went for a drive down A1A South and ended up at Sebastian Inlet, which is a really pretty state park known for its great fishing and surfing. The water is so beautiful there that, of course, I had to take some photos. And since this is now a PTR/blog, I’ll post a few here.

It started to rain, so we headed towards Vero Beach in search of a quaint little ice cream place we’d visited before. We never found it, but we did pass the DVC resort, which was fun. I wanted to get a photo, but we didn’t stop since it was raining (and because I wasn’t driving and didn’t have control of the vehicle!).

As we got close to home, the sky was a brilliant orangey-red…just spectacular! We had to stop and take a few photos.

Now, on to the DISNEY portion of today’s program!

I’ve been jonesing for Disney and took a moment to figure out that I haven’t been on Disney property since March’s not-so-magical Epcot day. That’s six months! That’s a long time for me…I’m so spoiled to be only about an hour away, and I’m used to taking spur of the moment Disney days a couple of times of month. So you can imagine how happy this made me:

Single digits, bay-bee! Eight days until my very cheery not so scary birthday soiree!

I’m still working on finding the appropriate replacement word for “bash”.

MNSSHP costume update: It appears that the logic fairy paid Erica a visit; and, although costume discussions continue, she has decided that high-heeled stiletto boots are not the wisest footwear choice for Disney.

Whew. Calamity prevented!

In other Disney-related news, Jaden, Erica and I went to see Finding Nemo 3D. I was curious to see how Disney would handle the 3D thing, considering a large part of the audience is little kids, and a 3D Bruce the shark coming out of the screen could be pretty scary. As expected, it was handled very well for the kidlets; but it was a tad mild for adults.

We agreed that what we enjoyed most was the preview with the Minions (from Despicable Me) in which one blows a party horn like this into the audience in 3D awesomeness:

The Disney drama never ends!

That, my friends, is what is commonly known as a teaser.

I'm saving the details for my Birthday Soiree (I'm tired of trying to find a better word, so I'm sticking with it) trip report.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Finally!

In making my final preparations for Disney, I did really important stuff like download the Tangled soundtrack (really, how have I not done that already?), choose pins for trading (maybe CMs will have Halloween pins to trade at MNSSHP?)...

...decide if I want to take my favorite ears (pictured below) with me or "forget" them and "need" to buy new ones (what do you think I decided?)...

...and purchase this little beauty...

We had to get Erica a house key made (finally!), and when I spotted the Disney keys...well, it was destiny and serendipity wrapped up in a sparkly Pixie-dusted ball of magic and dreams! I used to have a Tinker Bell office key for my previous job; but, sadly, Lowes didnt have Tink. In spite of my DIS user name and since I HAD TO HAVE A DISNEY KEY OR DIE, the princesses it was.

At least it has the rebellious Ariel (yes, I was once every bit as rebellious as the Little Mermaid) and the smart, beautiful, brave, book loving Belle (any doubt who my favorite princess is?) on it. We'll just pretend that spineless Cinderella is replaced with Rapunzel (spunky and she got the best Disney guy EVER)! No offense to Cinderella lovers!!

I absolutely LOVE that it says True Royalty on the back!!

Gabriel and Erica's reactions to my fabulous new key?

Erica (laughing): "I knew it!! Is there really any other choice for you?"

Gabriel (with an eye roll and grin) "There is something seriously wrong with you."

So, now I'm listening to Disney music on shuffle so there's surprise with each song (now playing Kiss the Girl) while I do laundry and try to KEEP CALM FOR TOMORROW IS DISNEY DAY!

So far it's not working.

I definitely understand about planning for groups...I planned our family's trip last summer which included a 2 & 4 year old as well as an aunt who was almost 8 months pregnant!!
