We have an 8:05 reservation at The Crystal Palace in a couple of weeks. How early do we need to arrive at MK? This is our first trip to Disney. I went to MK 11 years ago for a day trip, but this is our first family trip.

I would plan on being at the gates around 7:45-7:50... my understanding is that they let you in 15 minutes or so before your reservation. (I, too am doing my first pre-opening ADR this trip!)

Remember that if you are driving to the MK you need to leave extra time to travel from the TTC parking lot. If you are staying on-site, I would probably take the bus this morning. :)

The gate has a clipboard with the breakfast ressies on it. We like to get there about 20-30 minutes prior to our ADRs so we can work through the line and not have to run to the restaurant. Lots of people have ADRs for when the restaurant opens and it takes a while to check all those people in.

Even when we've gotten there 20-30 minutes earlier than our ressie there still is a line that has formed....the CM's at the gate for Breakfast ressies will check you off and then they'll open the gate for that line about 5 minutes or so before the first ressie time. There should be a sign above one of the gates that says Breakfast Reservations or something to that effect :)

Oh and you can contact the front desk and ask what the average time to get to the park via buses...etc and that'll help you figure out what time to get up, leave the resort...etc. Or there is an online transporation 'wizard' here: http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/aspx/twiz.aspx
