ok, on the heady highs of just booking next years trip (2 weeks at SSR in a 2 bed appt with free DDP!) - lying in bed this morning i have given myself the next 12 months to:-
1. Get better (surgery next week, so should be ok!)
2. lose the last 21lb to get to where i want to be (have already lost 5stone, so the last few pounds will be the hardest!)
3. swim more (i avoid the water parks for many reasons- but mainly because im not a strong swimmer, i will never be a brilliand swimmer but practise removes stress
4. walk more kids are older and fitter than last year and i struglled to keep up with them then.
5. smell the roses more. spend more time with my kids, have disney food (i ve loads of receipes) and play silly games 1 night per week. our lives are hectic, all 3 kids do sport at a high level (football and ice dancing) so i think a few hours a week will be good!)

so, my question is - what are you going to do before you go next?

I have only got just under 3 months but I am going to:

1. Buy some clothes that fit
2. Lose another 7 lbs (at least)

Not necessarily in that order though ;)

I've only got 11 days till I go so can't promise any massive changes! So I say that before I go I will:

1 - finally finish writing the UCAS references for my students!
2 - continue exercising everyday to try and improve my fitness levels a little
3 - lose 4lbs which takes me into the stone bracket below

jen_uk, a fellow teacher i see!! what subject? (do you think we get could get the LEA to accept disney studeis as a gcse, cause id happily teach it,:rotfl:

do you see a constant theme of weight loss here ladies? we do we lose so much to fill our (ok mine;)) with dole whips, funnel cakes and mickey waffles??)
i so love disney!! i have a big tink tattoo on my back and every time i want something "bad" i look at her in the mirror and think -do you really want that??

Hi Tracy,

Good luck with your targets.

Us - don't really have any , we haven't as yet booked for next year but hope to do so within the next few weeks.
"smell the roses", kind of applies as we want to enjoy Joshua's early years as much as we can, having been lucky to have had so many enjoyable holidays we just hope to have more, Josh's future is cloudy so we need to make the most of his youth. :)

great thread!

1. I would like to lose 10lbs - doing WW now so hopefully.......
2. Take my time with things, and try to chill out a bit more
3. De clutter my house some more to make more room for Disney goodies! :)

oh johnny, im so sorry, i knew josh has asd like my josh, i didnt realise there were "clouds"on the horizon.
all our disney holidays (mainly cause josh loves them that way, have been at 90mph, next year WILL be different...)
if you are interested have a look at the offers on on at SSR - we have got a 2 bed appt for £3800, inc passes and free DDP. lets been honest, with 5 of us, we can easily count £1000 for food, ice cream drinks etc over a two week stay, thats a little more than we spent in 2006 - we calculated about £800 - the kids were smaller then too!
i just need to arrange flights now..
i of all people understand how disney affects asd kids, and how different they are when there, my josh could "almost" pass as normal, and thats why i love it there.
I hope you get your next trip soon.

I teach psychology at a sixth form college but would defintely prefer to teach Disney studies! :goodvibes What do you teach?

officially - I am food technology trained, but the academy i have just finished working for works in school, therefore i have been teaching maths science and technolgy:rolleyes1:eek:
in september i start at a "normal" school as 2nd in dept in d and t.
its the big salary increase which has allowed us to book this, rather luxurious, 3 week trip to disney (2 weeks on site, 1 week off to do US and aquatica.
enjoy your holidays

oh that's ok Tracy - it's not 'doom and gloom' just as Joshua gets older his disabilities , not being able to talk and other things become more apparent, there is no way he will ever have a girlfriend or go to the cinema with his mates etc
That's why we go as many times as we can to Florida, to make the most of his youth, and before we get too old too! :)

SSR is something we looked at but it's our 20th wedding anniversary next year so we fancy the Grand Floridian for a few nights and then onto a villa.
Hotels and DVC type accomodation whilst great are a bit cramped for us for the whole holiday and Joshua really enjoys the home comforts & private pool.
Location of the GF close to Magic Kingdom is also ideal.

Well we go in 17 days but at the beginning of the year I vowed to lose 1 stone before we went. I did that and upped my target to 1 and a half stone and when I got there I revised the target to 2 stone. I need to lose one and a half punds in the next 2 and a half weeks to hit that target :)

I also decided that I would watch some more Disney films with my oldest DD (she is 4 now) so she would recognise even more of the characters and rides.

Roll on the next 17 days!

more films, that i approve of!!:surfweb::goodvibes

I want to :

1. lose 4-5lb. It might not seem like much but boy it's a tough road.Especially as i am addicted to the dis 'food porn' thread :rotfl2:

2.relax and NOT re-arrange my adr's yet again !

3. go camping- DH has bought a tent and the girls are really looking forward to spending a weekend under canvas. I am more of an en-suite type of gal:rotfl:
