We are going to wdw at Thanksgiving 15 people, 3 generations. My 24 yr old nephew who has not been to wdw in at least 10 yrs & is a serious, quiet type of guy has gotten really excited about the trip. Some mid 20s co-workers have raved about going to wdw every year, great new thrill rides, great night life, lots of young people around, etc & an "official" drink a beer in every world showcase country tour. He has the idea that its like the kids Epcot passports in that you acutally get something stamped to prove you completed the tour. I think they're pulling his leg, but he begged me to find out about this, so here I am asking. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Try search "drinking around the world"

that's what I believe most people refer to it

Yes, you can drink your way around the world showcase. No, it is not like the kids passport thing, you have no proof that you have completed it when you are done.

Fun though, lots and lots of fun.

Thanks, that's what I figured. I'm sure they'll have fun on their own anyway. My parents took the whole family to Scotland for their 50th anniversary & the grandkids who were old enough at the time(Europe's drinking age is younger than USA) attempted a pub crawl down the Royal Mile from Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyrood. Needless to say they did not make it (one fell asleep at one pub) & they believe only having 11 places in WS might be doable.

Drinking around the World can be really fun. We start in Mexico and work our way to around the Pub in the UK. From there its just a short walk to Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk. Its a good way to finish off the night.

If he wants to have "proof" that he did indeed drink around the world, have a picture taken of each beer :woohoo: . Lots of fun!

DBF and I have done this on the past three trips. We start in Mexico and end up in Canada...and somehow end up on a boat to the Boardwalk for munchies at ESPN zone and more drinks at Jellyrolls. :drinking1

Our rules allow for any alcoholic beverage (i.e. margarita in Mexico, champaign in France, wine in Germany) and we always have a lunch ADR somewhere in the World Showcase to fill up our stomachs (hello, Biergarten!).

I would also recommend a late start the next day...

Also, drinking around the monorail is a fun afternoon too! :rolleyes1

sbsteel. I like your idea of a beverage more representative of that country. My sister wants to do this too & there is no way she & I are drinking 11 beers! But the boys will probably stick to their beers. Janet-TX I also like the photo idea, I was also thinking of making something like the passports that they cd ask the bartender to sign. Thanks for the ideas everyone.

I am looking forward to taking my DBF to do this. He loves his beer and what a better way to try out so many different ones :rotfl:

We did "Drinking Around the World" a few years ago with DD and one of her friends. After they left, we went to Arribas Bros in DD and got them engraved shot glasses. The glasses had a WDW logo, the date, and we had "Drinking Around the World" engraved on them.

Sounds like lots of fun. The problem is, I would never make it around the complete world. Oh, wait a minute...do you take all day to do it?? :lmao:

Someone mentioned that there is some kind of discount you can get for sampling a drink in each country. Smaller version of each drink I guess. But I've never been able to confirm that.

I wonder if some of these drinks are covered under my DDE plan ... hehe, that would be dangerous!

:teeth:

I think DH and I will have to try this.. I like the idea of buying a souvenier glass to commemorate the day, too! :teeth:
