Beer Drinking Question

Did anyone ever get a strange look from people when you were walking around Epcot with a yard of beer?

Last year we got so many strange looks, I was starting to feel self conscious! My dh and I like to sample some of Epcot's beer, but, I might think twice about the yard this year, I don't need strangers staring at me!

Question: Why do you care if people who don't know you and who you are never going to see again stare at you?

I'd say if they are staring, they are stares of jealousy. You GO with your yard of beer! I know that initially I would look at people with these trying to figure out where I could get one.

Just because people stare does not mean they are thinking ill of you. You are on vacation, make yourself happy. Get the yard.

Sheesh...I stopped staring once I figured out you weren't going to offer me any.
Some people are so touchy.

Who knows why they were staring, just make sure your fly isn't open and then don't give it another thought.

I'm usually looking at something (starring) because I'm surprised by it or wondering where did they get that? The first time I saw that huge beer was starring because I never saw anything like it.

dont feel self conscious, you should not care whether people are staring or not,
you are on vacation, who cares, live it up
I have walked around World Showcase with a yard of beer along with dh, I noticed people looking, but I think it is more a look of envy and curiousity than anything else.
The best is when dh has to go to "potty" and I hold his beer also, then I have 2 yards of beer in my hands, it has been a conversation starter, I'll tell you that!

Me too ! My DH doesn't drink but I love beer & specially love drinking the different beers from the different countries. If someone stares that's their problem ! Won't stop me & my good time for a second

Um, hate to tell all those people staring at you but there's something a little more potent than a Coke in my red plastic cup. If you bought the thing and you're not doing anything illegal like trying to take it out of the park (which you can't do unless the yard is empty), then enjoy. It's like turning the TV onto something you don't like. Just change the channel and look at something else.

DH and I bought a yard glass on our last trip. I have a tip if you want to be less conspicious, or if you want to "share the wealth." If you are both present (if only one of you is there you can only get one cup), they will give you two plastic cups to pour the beer into. The yard glass is 28 oz. so you get two 14 oz. beers. We thought that $7.25 (the cost of the yard refill) was a great deal for two beers at WDW!

Darn - I missed the yard of beer. If I had been staring, it would have been a jealous stare!!!! Honestly, people were probably just thinking "what is that and where can I get one?" -- Don't be self conscious -- after all, THEY are wearing ears for goodness sake!!!!!

you can get the yard of beer at the Rose & Crown I however have never thried to do an entire yard of Guiness but may try it one of these trips

I noticed that many people stared at us too as we walked around witht he yards, but it was more of a "Hey look at that cool glass!" look.

I really got weird looks from the security guards at the front gates the next night when I brought my empties back for refills! Refills are SO much cheaper than having to buy the glass again, but I can't put away more than one a night. (Well I could, but then I wouldn't make the rope drop the next moring).

Epcot is all about selling alcohol from different cultures. I've never had "the look". I've seen tons of people walking around with their Fiesta Margaritas, Beersteins, etc... And all I've done is say "I want one myself!"
(Try the Fiesta Margaritas next time! YUM!)

The half-yards are only 25oz, but that's not much of a difference

Yes, I do get stares, but they're stares of "oh my god, where did you get that? I must have one!" not, "Wow, you're a drunkard." We were at the pub last Saturday and I had my newest favorite, a half yard of black velvet, heavy on the Guinness. The guy next to me took one look and said to the bartender, "I have to have one of those!"

And the guards usually joke about how they know what I'm going to be up to

Don't worry, everyone else in Epcot is too consumed with their own drinks to be noticing anyone else
