These things are absolutely fabulous! I will buy a six or twelve pack and use one for the bird and the others for the chef! You need to have the temp at 180 on the thickest part of the bird: this is usually in the thigh area. Hope everything turns out good for you.

Its great. You can actually buy a "holder" at walmarts for beer butt chicken. It holds the chicken and beer upright without the fear of tipping over!
