BEER at Disney World

Anyone know where you can get a reasonably priced beer at disney world. I can't see myself paying $5 and up for a beer, it will cost a fortune. Also, i heard, (don't know if it is true), that the "Screen Door General Store" on the Boardwalk sells beer that you can take back to your room,( sold by the case i guess). Can anyone help shed some light on this for me.

If you have a car or rental to go to the store they sell beer at the local walmarts and the like---much cheapper by the case---

There was a stand in the World Showcase, near Morocco, i believe, that sold Bud by the bottle (but poured into cups) for $2.50 I believe. I thought this was a fantastic bargain, Disney-speaking. This was in Oct '05.

As anything on Disney Property, you are paying a premium.

If you have a vehicle available to you, definately buy offsite and bring it with you. And if you want Canadian Beer, definately pack and bring it with you!

At any of the stores at the Resorts you can buy by the bottle, but I don't know at what cost.

We stayed at ASMu a couple of weeks ago and DH bought a 6-pack of Heiniken (sp?) in the gift shop & brought it back to the room. No idea how much - he brought me the 1/2 size bottle of wine so I wasn't asking!

There is a Hess gas station across from DTD that you can get cheap beer at.
Take the bus to the second stop, and cross the street. I can't remember the price, maybe $20.00usd for a case of 24 cans ?. You can than hop on the bus again and back to your resort. (Discovered this in January).

you can get beer and mixed drinks st the resort gift shops and they are cheaper then soda a bottle of soda is $2.25 and a mixed drink in a bottle is $1.99

You can buy beer at the gift shops in the hotels but the prices are ridiculous. As suggested try to go to Walmart, Hess gas station or Walgreen's. We were recently in Buffalo and purchased 2 packs of 30 beer at Walgreen's for $11.99 each.

We could not believe this when my husband and I were there. My husband would buy beer from the gift shop at Port Orleans and it was cheaper than buying pop? Strange. My husband figured why pay the extra money for pop when he can have beer. So on our afternoon breaks at the hotel pool, he would buy a couple of beers from the gift shop (cheaper than the pool side bar) and I would use my refillable mug to get a drink in the food court. We didn't go off property, so we didn't see the cost of beer anywhere else.

$9.95 for 6 cans of beer in the gift shop at the Wilderness Lodge last week.

Last May it cost me over 9 bucks US for 6 bud at the Publix out near the Florida premium outlet mall.

Alcohol is not cheap at The World. A Canadian beer at Epcot was over $7.

Like others have suggested, you can buy liquor all over the place down there (grocery store, Walgreens, Walmart, gas station!) and it is substantially cheaper by the 12 or case than here at home. There were plenty of non-US brands available, too.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Uzima Springs Pool Bar sells refillable glasses for a reasonable price (I think it was $5 or $6, including beer), and then refills are $3.50. Safari Amber is one of the choices there.

I am buying my beer here and taking it with me next time it will be about the same as what I paid for it at Publix last May.
