Beer and Wine coming to more MK restaurants, per easywdw

Can't we keep the buzzed adults and 20 somethings confined to Epcot? I do not appreciate the bar crawl atmosphere that can start to happen in WS in the evenings.

You were right to get your popcorn out, OP. Good job!

Normally I wouldn't care whether or not adults have a drink with their dinner, but this is Magic Kingdom. It's not needed and it's against Walt's express wishes.

I think this is a good decision. To the PP's who disagree, security should address any patron that is causing problems, whether intoxicated or not. It's not right to deny someone a glass of wine with dinner because some idiot might get blitzed. Many, or even most, families serve alcohol at home, both for family meals and for holiday and celebratory gatherings. I don't see why this is a problem at MK. By the way, this change won't impact me at all since my drink of choice is either water or unsweetened iced tea.

Walt wanted a family atmosphere at the park. He was a drinker, but didn't want alcohol served in the park. Even though he is dead, these parks would not be here without his desire to have a wholesome, clean place to bring the family where everyone can have fun together. It makes me sad that he wishes are not being honored in the parks that carry his name.

Big difference from Epcot and the other parks. Just beer and wine, and it will not be sold to go. They also will not have bars. So you'd need to be dining with a reservation to enjoy a glass of wine or beer.

I think it's a great idea. I enjoy a glass of wine with dinner on vacation, and the fact that I can't at these places (although CRT doesn't appeal to me) has been a reason I haven't eaten at them! We always leave MK for dinner.

The beverages offered fit with each restaurant’s theme and cuisine.
Here’s a look at a few of them:

  • Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, an Italian restaurant in the park’s Main Street area, will offer Italian wines and beers, including a Chianti Superiore designated to pair with the grilled pork chop with mushroom-bean pancetta ragu and marsala reduction.
  • Liberty Tree Tavern will serve beer, cider and domestic wines to go with its American cuisine. Koziol paired a New England lager with the Patriot’s Platter of roast turkey, roast pork and prime rib.
  • Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen in Adventureland will have a more global beverage menu, with drinks such as a riesling to pair with Trader Sam’s head-on shrimp.
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table, which host many special occasions at its spot in the center of the park, will serve champagne and sparkling wine.

walt is dead and does not own the parks.
Animal Kingdom is really wild too with all that alcohol everywhere. People barfing all over the giraffes.

This is already a sore subject for people either way. No need for these comments. I honestly forgot about the Dawa bar, and if that's the extent of it at MK, then fine, I guess. But the booze situation at Epcot is really annoying, during certain times of the year more than others. Notice I said buzzed people and not wasted? You don't have to be vomiting in Push to be obnoxious. Lots of people who've had a few tend to get LOUD, snarky and think they're funny. Nothing kills the Disney magic more for me than this. I'm around enough drunks in the real world. Disney is my escape from that.

Sadly, Walt's been gone for over 50 years now. Things change. His view on alcohol being served in the park may have changed over the years as well had he lived longer. We'll never know.
