Should I be worried or just forget about it? I think I will call MS and ask, but I have heard about the long phone delays too.....

Sounds good. But, I have no idea what to request. Never stayed before. Any suggestions for requests for a one bedroom standard view?

Standard view is the driveway to the resort, not much to request, that is why it's standard. I will caution that if you request close to lobby or elevator, you will be close to the luggage handling area, noise and trucks coming and going all day long, along with the DME buses.

Thanks again for the info. I figured since it was our first time staying there I wouldn't bother making a request. After this trip I will know more about the resort and what we would like to request in the future.

Apparently you can also check in using (unknown to me) a Disney reservation only site. Maybe try google? My disney reservations. I could NOT get online check in to work from the DVC page and I finally called MS and they directed me to the other web page.

Thanks I will try this site later today. I didn't even try doing it through DVC because last time we went I did that and it just automatically sent me to the Disney go page. So that is where I have been trying to do it for this trip.

This is most certainly NOT true anymore. I was able to do online checkin through MDE this past week for our reservation in late March. In fact now MDE says "Modify Check-In" on the right-hand icon bar.

The on-line check-in process now opens at 60 days prior to arrival for the WDW Resorts.

From DVCMember.com (under 'Vacation Planning > Pre-Arrival Checklist):

Online Check-In Service

Simplify the check-in process by pre-registering online prior to your arrival at select Disney Vacation Club Resorts and Walt Disney World Resort hotels in the Disney Collection.

Check in online on the home page 60 days prior to arrival at all Walt Disney World Resort hotels, or 10 days prior to arrival at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawai`i. (Note: This service is not available at The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.)

Then, when you arrive at your Resort hotel, simply head to the Online Check-In Desk where your Welcome Folder will be waiting. Show your valid photo I.D. and you're on your way!

Tried to do it with that reservation link you sent me and that didn't work either! Now on hold with MS - to try and figure out why it won't work for me.

The reason it didn't work is because my reservation was a "linked" reservation. So he had to unlink it - then I did online check in for each part - then he linked it back.
