big bear was the paraise island in the middle of our San Berdino county living...not sure if big bear is in the county,it is in the forest, which is real strange considering that san berdino extends more across the desert than the forest. we would spend a week in july, just grand...meet lassie the dog there once.

crescent city was home to some friends of my parents, so visited there one cold winter...I remember the swiming pool. drove thru in 2019. a sad looking town now...always seems to be on the verge of the next tidal wave....the casino has an elk herd. I am sure it is a sign of relief for tourist driving north on 101 after that drive from eureka...my birth place but left when I was 5.

the last time I was there was a golf tournament that started in Pioneer town, yucca valley, it was a cross country golf course, two days, the next morning the tee was on the east side, the dry lake bed, they golfed across the bed then onto a real golf course...I was the golfer's spot caddy, I would stand by the ball in the brush,...via walkie talkie they would tell us who was swinging.
