Forgive me, I have been reading and researching FP+ and Rider Switch a ton including the FAQ thread here. I was 100% understanding that to use Rider Switch, only the first person riding needed a FP+ to enter the FP line, and the remaining person (remaining with the under-height child) would be given a rider switch pass (either directly or after the first rider made it through with a lanyard) to enter the FP lane later.
Then, I called WDW for something else yesterday, and when the CM asked if I had any more questions I asked about the FP / RS use and wanted to confirm only one adult needed a FP. She had to wait for her supervisor to get back to her, but the answer was then "Yes, both adults need a FP to use RS".
I think this is not quite right, but may border on the official policy? So I have been googling more, and come across posts that state some CM's require a FP for both adults to use RS and some do not, but the cases where a CM requires both have a FP is rare.
Ok so, I don't want to game the system. I just want to plan well. I am wondering if I should book us both FP's for rides with height requirements and then IF we get away with only needing one, I can change it to something else right then and there right? Of course then it is based on availability.
Long story long... has anyone been denied a RS pass if you didn't also have a FP?
I am overthinking this. (Welcome to Disney vacation planning.
