Sorry all, this is the first chance to post a report.
Great trip from May 25 to June 4. Went with a rotating group- some times it was me and one college kid, me/6 kids, and finally me, DH, and only 5 kids...
Used the DDE card a ton of times, I did not call to get the card till a week before we left for WDW. Picked up the letter at ECOPT at GS window. And I made a copy of it for my DH. Used it in every park and at several of the resorts, also DTD.
Did a lot of "first" things I read about on this site. My DS,13, really wanted to find paintbrushes on Tom Sawyer's island. He tried several times. The next to last day he rushed over and was on the first boat to the island. He found 2 of them. At first he wanted to turn in both, or keep on as a sourveinor. But within a few min. he desided to turn in 1 of them. He kept the other one and went over to the island in mid afternoon and re-hide the other paint brush. That was the most fun for him, we had talked about how much fun he had looking for them. And he wanted other kids to have the same fun, and to find one also. The several other times he had looked we did not get there till about 11am or noon and all the brushes were long gone.
We also went to the Adventures Club 5 or 6 times. LOVE this place! As did DS13, DH did not. Other DS19 went and said it was ok, his friends liked it enought to go back several times. I had the Club Pres and Samatha ask where I had found my shoes... Crocs, they both had been looking for them! And the last night we went June 2 or 3, the Thur night, was packed with Gay Pride folks. Some guy from LA screamed and ran across the room at AC asking where I got my shoes! My DS just rolled his eyes,as both think I am obsessed with them- I only took 7 pairs down with me... They did serve my 19yoDS a drink that had booze in it on accidence... but he was allready signaling them as they ran back and grabbed it from him. Both the CM and DS were appoligazing like mad.
We also did not make any AP's for the trip. And did have a problem getting in to any place except Boma's. And we could have gotten in there if we had checked at the front desk when we went about 5:30ish on Fri night, instead of about 6:45 when we finally did check. And even then we could have gotten in around 8pm.
Spent several days at Typhoon Lagoon. Did the new ride many, many times. As they tell you , Lift Your Butt up! Did each ride alone, and then with 1 other person, and then 2 others. Went much faster with more people and more weight. We got airbourn several times... tons of fun. The week before Memorial day there were several days I was on the Lazy River with not another person in sight! Never had that happen before. We didn't go to the water parks till about 1pm and lots of people were leaving then.
Also did the Mini golf at Blizzard Beach. Did the summer side. It was much easier then the Fantastic course. Lots of fun.
Ate at several places for the first time. Coral Reef lunch was very, very good. The Italian place at ECOPT was horrid, the Alfredo Fet. was lumpy, greasy, the noodles stuck together and were either over/or under cooked. And the pastry at France was not good this trip! Except for the Elephant Ears. Tried this several days, and not good on any of them.
Did get candy animals from the Lady in Japan. I went there at least 4 days, and just spent a little time talking to her. I am really facinated by this and did get her to make me an Owl. But I mostly wanted to just watch so I hung back behind the crowd. By the 3 day we watched she knew the whole group of us and made several animals for different members in the group, on different days. We did not want to hog the show, or get more animals then others that might be there only a day or 2. Also watched many, many Off Kilter shows... and when my DS13 was asking Randy about how to play some guitar cords Randy pulled him on stage and let him play his custom guitar! It was after the show, and Randy spent a lot of time with him. It was great!
Another thing we did was get a hand made Ice Cream Sandwich at MK at the bakery. For us it was a great treat, big, and very yummy!
We stayed off site at Cypress Point, Phase1 & 2. Liked the old side the best. But we could not get 2 weeks in the old side. And we had to many kids to stay in phase 1.
Overall a great trip! Lots of rain, and a little flooding. We did not do the parks every day. We did go to other places, like the Orlando HarleyDavidson stores... and we ate off site several times. And we walked around DTD several days. Found the $10 Disney Mart! They had some great stuff at 4 for $10 ! I got 2 ball hats, a stuff seal, 4 big balls, and a lot of other stuff! And they have it all the time they said. It is on the walk way to Cap't Jacks, next to the Disney Pet store in DTD.
