I just visited today with a friend who stayed at HIFS the first of this month (Aug. 2-8, 2003). They stayed there after our recommendation from January.

She said they had a great time and will stay there again when they go back sometime. She said the staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and the pool was great, even their 2 month old went into the swimming pool. No one got sick - 2 parents, DS 12, DD 8, DD 5 and DD 2 months. She said breakfast was nice and even filled their son. She did say the dinner meals got a little boring (they had a $50.00 food voucher each day), however the seafood buffet was really good.


Hope this helps relieve a few worries. Any other questions please post and I will try to respond the best I can and can get more info from my friend, if need be.

I remember seeing some negative reports just before we went in January and got scared but the number of positives definitely outweighed the negative. I have recommended HIFS to several people, the one above and also another who will be staying in December.

My MIL called to make a ressie for a few days while we are there and asked for an E-mail confirmation. The man she talked to said that their E-mail is down. They've been having lot's of trouble with it apparently. AND, it won't be up for @ a week. That's probably why you haven't recieved a response yet.

In the meantime, I got AKL for 119.00 through expedia, so I booked it, but am keeping the HIFS reservation as well. I got the entertainment rate, which I understand they're no longer offering, so I don't want to lose it.

AKL was my first choice, but out of my price range. While 119.00 is still more than I budgeted...I'm going to see what I can do. I can always cancel one or the other...or maybe split my stay.

I'll post when I hear from HIFS.

What time frame are you going that you got that rate? Expedia wasn't showing anything that low for me (oct.)

We stayed at HIFS at the end of April and was very satisfied. The rooms as well as the common areas were very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only meals that we ate there was breakfast and the buffet was only so-so. As far as the pool, it appeared to be clean. I will say this, they closed it for a few hours one day to "treat it" because a child had an accident (which could happen anywhere) but at least they seem to be taking safety precautions.

Overall it was a good experience and we plan to stay there on our next trip to WDW.
