Bee Problem at AKV Status

We just returned from a 5 night stay at Jambo house. The bees were terrible. They were all around the walkways, pool area, and our balcony on the 5 th floor. We could not use our balcony. They gave us a $75 credit because of this. If you have your choice where to stay, sounds like Kidani is not as bad. Definitely a problem at Jambo.

Did they give you 75.00 cash or points? I saw you posted they credited points?

Sorry you were not able to use the balcony.

We were in a 2 bedroom savanna view at Jambo in May. We did have some bees on our balcony. One day it seemed worse than others. The one day we left the balcony because of it. It was also time to leave for dinner, so I didn't think much of it. They seemed to be above our balcony. I hope it does not become a major problem.

We were at AKL jambo in a 1 bedroom savanah view and one day we had bees swarming above our balcony. we called the front desk adn the next morning someone came not even right away. By the time they came the bees were gone. The pest control guy said that they are foragers so they roam around looking for a food source and move on. great! i din't really care all that much but i did get out of the balcony area that day.

We were at AKV Kidani village the last week of June. We never once had a problem with any bees on our balcony(it was a savannah view). We were at the pool and pool bar numerous times and never had a problem there either. Also, we were at Jambo house and never saw any bees at all. I am so glad we didn't have a problem and am so sorry others had problems with them. I really hope they do something about this and get rid of them because AKV is our favorite. My kids are scared of any bug and they would flip out over swarms of bees on the balcony because we all like to spend time out there.

We had $75 put on our room key. What we didn't use would get credited to our charge card. So in essence, yes cash.

Our DDnow8-going-on-28 used to freak out over bugs, but it was more drama than real fear. I solved her fear with a simple, calm response.

When she would scream, "Daddy...BUGGGG!!!!" I would answer, "Don't eat it."

Now she just says, "Daddy, there's a bug in my bathroom, but I'll take care of it. And yeah, I know...'Don't eat it'!"

I was out at Everglades last week at a hanger where we keep airboats, and another ranger heard a rattlesnake rattling (we have Eastern Diamondbacks - largest venomous snake in North America). We never actually saw the snake (which is a little unnerving :tiptoe:) but when I told Girlie that story, she wanted to go back out and look for the snake!

She's come a long way.

Bottom line: bugs are. If you want flowers and trees, you need to get over bees. Or if you are truly anaphalytic allergic to bee-stings, you need to carry an Epipen (preferably two, because they only provide temporary relief) and stay away from bees.

We were there Aug 7-22, Jambo. We did have some, they looked more like black wasps, on our balcony from time to time. But never a ton. Once there were like 3 and I considered calling the front desk but they went away on their own. Otherwise around the resort I didn't see any.

At the MK bus stop one time a CM was emptying a trash can and it looked as if they had maybe started building a hive in it.

But those were the only instances I saw.

I don't mind bee's especially Honey Bee's (hard working little buggers) I just don't want "Swarms" If its just a few on the balcony, actually I will give them their own balcony and I will use another...but if it is "Swarms" which I equate to like 10 or more in a cubic yard area....game on, no flowers or trees on this balcony, I may use the raid, or the old vodka flame shooter shooter....if they are wasps...honey bee's I would try to displace maybe offer them up a cup of my drink, see how the night progressed, who knows maybe if they are disney like bee's we will have some magical moments. :duck:
