We were at AKV Kidani village the last week of June. We never once had a problem with any bees on our balcony(it was a savannah view). We were at the pool and pool bar numerous times and never had a problem there either. Also, we were at Jambo house and never saw any bees at all. I am so glad we didn't have a problem and am so sorry others had problems with them. I really hope they do something about this and get rid of them because AKV is our favorite. My kids are scared of any bug and they would flip out over swarms of bees on the balcony because we all like to spend time out there.
Our DDnow8-going-on-28 used to freak out over bugs, but it was more drama than real fear. I solved her fear with a simple, calm response.
When she would scream, "Daddy...
BUGGGG!!!!" I would answer, "Don't eat it."
Now she just says, "Daddy, there's a bug in my bathroom, but I'll take care of it. And yeah, I know...
'Don't eat it'!"
I was out at Everglades last week at a hanger where we keep airboats, and another ranger heard a rattlesnake rattling (we have Eastern Diamondbacks - largest venomous snake in North America). We never actually saw the snake (which is a little unnerving

) but when I told Girlie that story, she wanted to go back out and look for the snake!
She's come a long way.
Bottom line: bugs are. If you want flowers and trees, you need to get over bees. Or if you are truly anaphalytic allergic to bee-stings, you need to carry an Epipen (preferably two, because they only provide temporary relief) and stay away from bees.
