Day 10- Saturday 20th August 2011 Disneys Hollywood Studios
Breakfast was at the Contempo.
Luke and I shared the egg, cheese and ham sandwich.
Matt had waffles-with bananas and caramel. He also got the bacon with it-it wasnt going to cost us extra as we were using our counter credits. Ok I know its a waste to use them for breakfast, esp as the waffles were so cheap but we had way too many left. The poor piece of bacon looked terrible-not sure if it got eaten in the end.
We caught the bus to DHS
Our first stop was TOT, I love this ride.
Its one of my favourite rides at WDW.
usually Luke sits in the middle of Matt & I and then we hold each of his hands. Well I couldnt hold on today-I had the rucksack (im sure I usually leave it on the wheelchair as Matt puts the important stuff in his bumbag)
Anyway the rucksack was flying- as the ride was dropping I was kind of forced into a standing up postion and the rucksack was above my head.
Matt & Luke survived ok and they enjoyed it. Its a Fab ride!
After TOT we watched Beauty & The Beast, we were sitting right at the front.
It was so hot in the theatre, we were very lucky with the weather this holiday. We had managed to miss all the rain. Makes a change after getting soaked every time we come in May.
There were lots of screaming kids during the show-think they were scared of the Beast.
Matt then went on Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, while Luke and I looked in some shops.
When we all met up there was only one place to go!
The ride was great but seemed a lot rougher than all our revious rides.
We headed for Lights,Motors,Action- I like the background view.
Its a fab show, the addition of Cars character was very cute.
We then had lunch at Pizza Planet and got exactly the same food as the other day.
As we left Pizza planet and headed for the toilets it started to rain-heavily. People blocked the toilets to hide from shelter so we got a bit wet. We then ran through the rain to Star Tours, Matt & Luke rode it while I waited in the shop. Although In hindsight I should have gone with them but not rode it, as it was still raining heavily outside and the shop was crammed. After yet more shopping we got the Star Wars goodies sent to the hotel. As we left it was hardly raining outside-typical as we'd brought a couple of ponchos, Luke had a raincoat.
We then headed to Mickey Avenue and looked around before heading to....
I enjoy this ride but think its over over rated,Its just a 3d version of any shooting ride.
It was now getting late and our ADR for the sci-fi dine in was soon. We checked in about 10 minutes early but they warned us they were about 30 minutes behind. They suggested we go and come back in about half an hour. Only one thing for Matt & Luke to do-yes! go on Star Tours again. I waited at Sci-fi and eventually Matt & Luke came back, so Matt just let them know that we were all here now.
We were called soon after and started to walk to the table, they then asked if Luke could transfer. When we said no they had to go back and sort us out with another table as theyd given us a normal car. It took a few minutes but we were soon seated.
We all got Oreo cookie milkshakes as our drinks, we paid for Luke to get one of the glow in the dark Buzz Lightyears-although he got lemonade in it rather than the punch. Matt and I also got cokes extra. I got cherry coke and I think Matt got Vanilla.
we decided to go for starters too as the BLT soup is nice here and I really wanted some onion rings.
Matt=
BLT soup-nice flavour.
Shrimp Pasta - Bow tie pasta and sauteed shrimp tossed with olive oil, garlic, basil and fresh tomatoes, topped with parmesan. Matt thought it was ok.
Nicky=onion rings-very nice and crispy.
Butcher Steak - with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetable, a red wine glaze
I really wanted a steak as I hadnt had one on the holiday. It was good.
luke- we asked if theyd do a burger for Luke as its only on the lunch menu. They said of course. Luke enjoyed this.
We enjoyed our meal it just didnt wow us. Its weird as Matt and I ordered what the other usually eats, think we would have liked each others dish more.
Ive noticed theyve changed the menu since and got a few more options that id prefer so may go back again.
We ordered desserts-
Matt-Apple crumble, he loves crumbles and enjoyed this.
Nicky-cheesecake. I knew before we went the cheesecake was actually a red velvet cheesecake. This was lovely
Luke-Peanut Butter-Chocolate Cake - Warm chocolate cake with a creamy peanut butter center served a la mode
We didnt actually taste any peanut butter in the centre, the only peanut butter we tasted were from the reeces pieces.
We enjoyed our meal but were very full. I like the theming at Sci fi and think everyone should at least try it once.
Afterwards we decide to have a quick look around and the go to the shops. it was still fairly early-about 7pm so we were thinking what to do for the evening. We thought about taking the bus to Mk but decided to take the bus to our hotel and then decide if we wanted to walk to Mk. However when we got to our hotel we decided to head to our room and relax at the hotel.
When we got to our room this was waiting outside-
(theres a 5 legged goat just above it)
We guessed the monorail system wasnt working, so were glad we decided to stay at the hotel. Since coming back Ive read a couple of trip reports that said it was a nightmare that night. Glad we were able to relax and watch Wishes just before bedtime.xx
